Shout out to the people with mediocre talents
The people who can carry a tune but don’t have a remarkable voice
The people who can draw more than stick figures but can’t develop their own style
The people who have a decent imagination but no idea how to write it all out (or vice versa)
The people who can play covers of songs but can’t write their own music
The people who can dance with choreography but not freely
The people who can do sports but never make the team
The people who are good- that just don’t feel good enough

Ramin Karimloo’s “Bring Him Home” for Kyle Jean-Baptiste, at the matinee performance on August 29, 2015
Note the line change:
He was young, He was only a boy…
RIP Kyle <3
I don’t remember if I mentioned it, but I was at this performance. This doesn’t do it justice at all really, there was just something about it that completely shook you in an unexplainable way. It was really a brilliant tribute, and just hearing it again made me burst into tears. I’m so sorry.

Les Miserables holds a special place in my heart. And though I have always been one of those silent supporters from continents away, I felt a part of my world shaken earlier today as I saw the sad news and heartbreaking posts from fans and theatre actors alike. I wanted to write a long message to try and ease what they must be feeling but I fear I may only make it worse. In the end, I just wanted to make this small offering for Kyle. Reading all these kind words about him, I believe he wasn’t just a special Jean Valjean, he was a very very special individual. He was still too young, yes. But he also touched so many lives and even in this tragic moment, that is something worth celebrating for.
Rest in peace, Kyle Jean-Baptiste. You are and will always be loved. Now you shall be with God. 🙏
