Indeed I have been for a whole month now. And this blog has run its course. Come see me over elsewhere....
realised...
that there is possibly a need for a huge big catch up here, at some point. Like the decision to *not* attempt Edinburgh this year. And although that was never formally on 'the list' it ended up there, as an adjustment to something that wasn't ever likely to happen because... well, it ceased to have a meaning or a need or a purpose behind it once I started living 'true to myself'. Knowing, developing and, well, being, me, being the entire point of the whole exercise. It really has been.
(for example: this would be no 20. I've yet to do no. 24 either. Would someone like to have me as a guest??)
Isn't it great the things we learn about ourselves when we are madly procrastinating with regard to actually *living*...

More TV
Spent a happy hour yesterday as one of those there talking heads, for a programme for BBCThree. I await the outcome with (prurient) interest!
I did it!
I wrote a whole million words.
Not amazing, not wonderful (although some are sublime), but done and all mine. There have been articles, journalling, short stories, thought pieces, advice columns, recipes, jokes (hmmm make that some jokes and a lot of misses), drinks, drama, lots of research and wordplay, public speaking, and the outlines and beginnings (and one ending) of possibly 3 or 4 book length things...
...Those I will be bringing in to the new year.
Along with a couple of talks I'm listed to present;
and a whole blooming-heck-what-am-I-doing-oh-sod-it-lets-see-if-I-can-do-this-and-put-on-a Show.
Wahey. So, I suppose that that is the unofficial no. 41 ticked off now.
Off to work out what is left :-)
A couple of things...
.... added over at the life blog...

Warning: contains alcohol!
Nearly the end of the year...
still doing things.
Last night I sat door for a gig. (no. 7)
and I'm nearly done with the Million Word Challenge I was set way back nearly a year ago.
I'm not entirely sure what number that falls into. probably no. 41 :-)
No.42 of course being next summer... the challenge to end all in so many ways...
Once more
Falling into a pattern of monthly posts. I should really write more...

No.7 and towards No.19
The lovely folk at http://cakeshortandsweet.wordpress.com/ made some anthologies to sell at Manc.Con a few weeks back. Pleased to say I was featured in one. Yay!
Details here: https://sarahgracelogan.wordpress.com/2013/07/29/short-story-pamphlets-coming-soon/
No. 22
I concentrated on taking alcohol courses - the short ones at the lovely Imbibe show, an annual trade fare for those interested or working in the Licensed and alcohol trade(s).
A brilliant time was had (even by the thumb I'm still healing over a week later - it was bloody and I ended up with Two of those lovely blue plasters. Boy can those things staunch a flow :-)

No. 7
On possibly one of the hottest days of the year, I think I lucked out - an air conditioned recording studio in Wembley (it has its own skate park), a half dozen lovely ladies, and a tres cute studio engineer to guide us all in the mysteries of recording the gentleman (guitar and vocal) duo he had borrowed for us to practise on... all whilst The Killers did their soundcheck at the stadium nearby :-) There was even *real* coffee. A complete bargain of a course, presented by Gaggle and titled ‘Studio Sound Engineering for Woman’. I’ve been left *needing* a copy of protools, a clutch of new microphones and a general longing (again) to record and sing and do the studio thing (I love setting up microphones and getting the balances right and all that sort of stuff). But best of all is a reminder that I haven’t forgotten it all for <mumble> years ago, I just need to practise. Lots. And the links to watch, for when they do it all again :-) http://gagglecave.tumblr.com/
(or like their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/GAGGLE/67969480749 ) If you are in need of a lovely place to record :-) http://www.theparkstudios.com/
No pictures to embed, as tumblr isn't playing ball today. I'll come back and add some later.
I am *not* old, and still here!
Today I am 41, and still going, still doing The List, although it has evolved some what. I am starting to keep records over at http://lpghackslife.tumblr.com/ and whilst things specifically on the list will be updated here, there will be a wider range of things over there. Some of which I am off to do now.
Learning a language
So today I'm attending the Rails Girls London event, and tomorrow will be spent on the accompanying hack day learning to code using Rails.
On The List, I did put 'learn a new language' (I know it has a number, but I forget which and I'm drinking a glass of wine and simply cannot be bbbb'd to look it up, (not) sorry!) and in talking to others here, I've realised that this is indeed me doing that 'thing'.
So Ruby on Rails. and by tomorrow I will have also made some 'use' of it. I'll park whatever it is somewhere and you can all go and play with it and laugh at me. I'll join in :-)
A catch up
Hello dearest darlings.
Well, I occupied myself. And now am unoccupied, and getting tetchy, so am back doing list like things again. More of which later, when I a) have something to show, and b) am hopefully less tetchy.
Let it simply be said that there is (finally) real and concrete progress being made on numbers 5,7,9,10&17. A soupcon more on 29 and 37. I'm also still keeping up with the whole 'million word challenge' and getting a lot of processing done in the process, alongside some honest to goodness published things.
Love, life and list.
Helen/LPG
Two projects come to fruition
Earlier this year I took part in a couple of projects, because I wanted to, and because they furthered the cause of various parts of the list. Both of these have now been released and are linked in the previous posts :-)
