Bare Bears || Monotheatre
A noise suddenly came from the throne area, and Monokuma himself strode out, frowning, before he turned to glower at Takumi and Sachi both. Scratching his head, he then began speaking in a gruff tone of voice.
“Look, you don’t have much time. Can you wrap it up soon, the Equites will be here soon.”
Takumi was honestly happy his conversation with Sachiko had been interrupted, she was getting on his nerves so much. With a smile, he turned to Monokuma and puts his hands behind his back while tilting his head slightly.
“Not much time? Aw honey, how sad. That sucks. I would have liked more time, but I guess life’s unfair as it is~.”
It was hard to tell if he was serious or joking in a terrible way.
“I don’t fucking care about your grandiose reveal or whatever, I want you to get it over with and get everything in order. There are still scientists out there, even if I hope Kumi took care of them, but we really need to be getting out.”
“Talk about a grandiose reveal when you’ve been walking in a weirder costume than me. I literally just switched to the suit and explained myself. Though I’ve been a little bit too quiet during the whole game, I wasn’t as attention seeking as some of you are.”
“I’ve had enough about working with you as a partner. Shittiest experience ever, seriously, I hate it so much. You’re like a parrot, you never shut up”
At this, he then pulled out his sword and pointed it at Takumi before Kumi cleared their throat, sighing.
“Look, we need to get this over with. Monokuma is right, we need to get the students out so…”
Takumi stepped back when the sword was pointed at him, but then he grinned and shrugged before talking.
“Alright then! Have fun with your own personal game, Monokuma! I’m not gonna work for your dirty and dumb paws anymore! And frankly, if you hated it so much, why didn’t you kill me? Oh well, what would be the utility to keep it up anymore when I know my time is almost up? Huhuhu, I’ve lived for more than 16 years and that sound short to some of you but that’s fucking plenty to me! So have fun screaming around, because I’m gonna be in my personal hell soon anyway! Too bad I wouldn’t manage to fully reach my goal of instilling chaos, but that’s okay! I’ve done what I could~”
This appeared to be the bear-person’s breaking point and he lunged forward, the sword pointed straight and true. There seemed to be a moment where time stood still before a scream came from behind the throne.
…And Monomi herself had caught the sword, her eyes narrowed determinedly. Blood dripped to the ground from her hands and yet she held her stance before twisting her arm and punching the shocked Monokuma in the gut, causing him to bend over. She then knocked the blade back, sliding to the side as Monokuma turned abruptly towards Takumi.
“Look, I don’t fucking care if we’re going to conquer Japan, I hate you, Ueno. Why did we have to be dragged into this simulation anyways? Why did she have to be here? Why do I have to deal with this?”
Sachi paused for a few seconds, blinking, before Takumi tilted his head.
“Not like I’m used to the salty words. Yeah you all hate me, what’s new. I’m not up for some theatrical shit anymore. But I told you already, it was for my own personal fun since I wanted to see who would stand still after an extended pressure of the game, and she was there for technical stuff. I appreciated to see and hear the chaos and the crying of some of you. It was hilarious. Anyway. Repeating it makes it dull, honestly. But the simulation idea was not mine, I simply messed around with what was there so I asked that girl to pick people to throw in the game since she’s better at handling technology. It’s simple!”
“Yeah, bastards. This entire simulation was Hope’s Peak idea. They built it as part of an enrichment program, but they soon changed it when they found out that Japan was about to be taken over by a new group. And Ueno and I are working for the same affiliation, the Equites Ieustheta.”
“Sachiko also used to be a member of the cult, too.”
“Yeah, we’re going to use the simulation to stir fear into the hearts of the population. There’s nothing you can do about it, and Ueno’s dying soon anyways.”
“You really need to remind it multiple times to people that my life’s wasted? You must love me.”
“So, you know, you’ll all either die or join the cult. You have the power to make a choice…chose wisely”
