DARKOHAUS - AMBIENT TRACK

I’ve been working on my project recently and it’s coming to an end as summer gets closer, but I honestly have enjoyed working on this topic and content so much that I don’t see myself stopping any time soon.

I made this track (rookie I know) to go with some clips of film I’ve taken over the past few weeks. The inspiration was drawn from Ethel Cain, David Lynch (his short film works like ‘Lynch Alphabet’) and soundtracks such as Donnie Darko, Yume Nikki and Stranger Things Vol.1 and Vol.2.

I think that it’s pretty neat, and I will share the film shortly to show how everything goes together. My show is in a week or so, which I’m pretty nervous for but I’m sure it’ll all work out.

these are from a photoshoot i did last night where i made masks out of lace and loose fabric. i think this one looks really cool. i’m looking for that eerie sort of feeling, i’m hoping this is hitting that mark…

will be posting some more of these. hopefully will also be doing some monoprints of these, too!

lace mask photography!

i have been playing around with the idea of facial distortion and things similar to that by using masks and things to cover the face.

these were inspired by gottfried helnwein’s self portraiture photography as well as his and models performance artworks! looking to buy some new materials to get more into that uncanny sort of detail in the work.

i think these are some pretty cool photos, they kind of remind me of ethel cain. and of course, my favourite of moi is now my profile pic \(^v^)/

another collage! i really like this one, the textures are really cool and interesting and i definitely enjoyed searching for the words.

i never know whether to start with a phrase when i have a collage in mind or to just let whatever happens happen with what things i take from…

some collage work from my new project recently! i’ve been really enjoying going through newspapers and magazines and taking out words \(°U^)/

hopefully going to get some more cool collages since i’m looking at expressionism and masks in artwork! i think it’s a really cool subject to focus on particularly in more symbolic artwork. adding words to the combined result of it all is just fun in general.

not quite finished yet, but i’ve been drawing urYod !

sort of fighting with my coloured pencils to get the effect i really want, but it’s going pretty well..

dark crystal is amazing and i adore brian froud’s work ! i’ve been obsessed with drawing little creatures in my own personal sketchbook, and im hoping to make some of my own soon, which i will definitely share to here :D
