Mistress of The Manor Barbie is Here to Greet You…

You can tell that its fast approaching Halloween when Barbie Collector release their annual ode to the season in the shape of an addition to the Haunted Beauty Series. This year’s doll is entitled Mistress of the Manor Barbie Doll. She comes complete in Victorian era plum satin gown and fun accessories, including the keys to the manor and a skull decorated candelabra.

What I like about her is that she is a departure from the usual Halloween ghosts, vampires and spooks. I can just imagine the backstory for her lonely vigil in the abandoned Manor House up there on the hill, past the haunted woods! I dare you to knock on the door!!

What is also refreshing is, although she is on the dreaded ModelMuse body, she does have… wait for it… articulated arms and hands! Thanks Mattel!!

Are You Ready for Barbie Lagerfeld?

Available globally on September 29, 2014, the doll will be released under the Barbie® Collector label.

Taking inspiration from the designer’s signature style, the doll will be dressed in the designer’s like-ness with accents taken from the real KARL LAGERFELD line.

“Barbie Lagerfeld” captures the essence of Karl Lagerfeld’s namesake brand. Borrowing from Karl’s iconic silhouette, the doll wears a tailored black jacket, white high-collared men’s shirt with French cuffs and black satin cravat finished off with fitted black jeans. The exclusive doll is adorned in accessories that include black fingerless gloves, sunglasses, black ankle boots and a black leather purse with silver metallic accents.

The Platinum-label Barbie Lagerfeld doll will be available in limited quantities (only 999 dolls will be produced) for approximately $200 USD or €200 Euro.

The FIDM Museum & Galleries official blog where SPELLBOUND, Superdoll’s first US Chalk White exhibit is taking place, have released some new photos from the exhibition and the opening night event. As well as more detailed pics of the SPELLBOUND beauties themselves there are also pics of previous Chalk Whites which were are also on display at the gallery.

Those attending the accompanying  Downtown Drama Sybarite convention event were also treated to convention doll, BOULEVARD, as well as outfits SPACE CADET, EMPEROR and GAZEBO. There was also 2 Salon Outfits available separately for convention goers to buy.

  Spellbound Superdoll Exhibition Now On!

Last night saw the opening of the first Superdoll exhibition of Chalk Whites to take place in the USA. The exhibition is entitled SPELLBOUND and takes place at FIDM Museum in LA from now until 16th August. The exhibition is free to attend, however some lucky Sybarite Collectors will be also be attending an official convention organised to coincide with the collection’s debut.

The collection is apparently inspired by the work of Charles Dickens and included those lucky enough to attend the opening night received a black crinoline packaged in a gold Superdoll Salon box. Here are pics which appeared on Superdoll’s Facebook Page today. Click on them to see the Superbig!
