All these dogs have passed the rainbow bridge so the owner ordered whole group of them in mini felted version.  Sure bring back lots of fond memories!

Needle felted Yorkie, Bichon, Maltese, Collie and golden retrievers.  The shortest is about 3 inches tall, the tallest one almost 8 inches.   This project took me about 3 weeks.

hi!! i’m brand new to monster high collecting and i just bought four brand new dolls. all of the dolls look normal, but the boxes are very different from what i’ve seen online. the most noticeable thing being the fact multiple languages are on the boxes, and all of them have a logo on the back that says “republica argentina”. are these dolls just different because they’re from another country or are they fakes? (really hoping they aren’t fakes)

Assembling Doll Shell Chair: Tutorial

This product can be found in our store on Etsy: 1:6 Barbie scale, 1:4 MSD scale. This tutorial can also be applied to our Shell Sofa: 1:6 Barbie scale, 1:4 MSD scale.

1) Carefully cut out the parts with a knife. All you need is to cut the small cross-pieces on the back side of the kit.

2) Assemble the details as shown below. Most of the details can be assembled and kept together without glue, but we strongly recommend to use glue for wood to make the items steady.

this is my custom furby baby, nectarine!! i always wanted this particular color of furby baby as a kid, so i didn’t want to change her fur. i gave her a bath, sewed her new ears (i’m not fond of the fabric they use on furby ears since it gets pilly and isn’t soft, replaced it with minky), painted her beak+faceplate+eyelashes, and made her new eyechips <3 i love her so much! for a first time custom, i’m really happy with her. i’ve got one more (an adult furby) that’s in the pipeline who’s getting a full makeover complete with new fur, so … WE’LL SEE HOW THAT GOES

I was looking hard at their photos and it looks to me like they use something to fill the root holes and then paint the flatter portions (around the hair roots, like on the middle photo) and then the tight cornrow braids (the ones that are tight against the head, I am sorry if that is incorrect word usage, that is the term I am familiar with) look like they are sculpted and those somehow transition to actual hair. On the first doll, you can kind of see where it looks like the microbraids are rooted where they start to fall off of the head.

I honestly wonder if they root the actual hair, then fill the empty holes, paint and then sculpt the braids into the actual hair?

If this lady is skilled at what is just called “African Braiding” in the States, they may very well be sparcely rooted individually braided plaited braids. I’ve zoomed in as close as possible and while it does look loke some of the rooting holes have either been filled or painted over, the quality of the braids looks like actual fiber and like it’s coming out of rooted plugs.

However she does it, it’s ingenious and I am so envious.

I agree, they look entirely fiber to me.  My thought was that they are braided before being attached to the heads (with the rooting holes filled in), and either glued or stitched (or both) where they need to be flat to the head, with the details painted

(like, the end of the already-braided hair is inserted into the head, then the rest is glued/stitched in place, maybe picking up hair rooted in select other places.)

I agree about them being pre-braided and then inserted. I am going to go through my head stash and see if I can accomplish something similar (albeit messier I am sure lol)

An update on this, I started braiding some of the hair I purchased, but I got too excited and tried out an idea just for the hell of it.

I started rooting in some of the braid It worked the way I did it (albeit no where near as detailed as africarbie), but I thought of a better way to do what I wanted in the process, so I cut my losses and plan on restarting it soon.

But! when trying to figure out how they filled the plug holes, I came up with the idea of using acrylic paint mix with some white school glue and it worked really well. Like it is verrrry hard to peel off and it matches the head decently. My color ended up a little dark, but I think with about three coats it would conceal the holes well enough to start rooting in the braids.
