HERE IS A WHOLE POST REGARDING MY CALDURA PROPAGANDA!!!
Explaining Their Characters:
Calstone Light O is a very straight-forward person, and is direct with what she wants. However, she is very stupid, so much so that Bakushin has competition for the dumbest sprinter in all of Tracen Academy. She also hyperfixates towards specific things, those being cats, speed and straight lines. Despite her directness making people think she's a little blunt or rude at times, she means good at heart. For example: Her helping you (the trainer)get back your wallet from a robber. (and another example of this I will talk about later since it involves Caldura's dynamic and interactions.)
Durandal is quite different, she isn't the most direct person, and she acts all noble and proper (at least compared to Light O). She also is really interested in knights and all sorts of fantasy books and even romance novels. And one part of her is that she really, REALLY enjoys being praised by others, whether it be her trainer, her juniors, or her friends and rivals, and her ears twitch whenever someone commends her. Durandal is a really helpful person, often going out of her way to lend a hand to those in need of her assistance, and she also is really loyal and is the type to never leave your side. (and secretly, she can also be a little stupid...)
Like Gold Ship and Mejiro McQueen for example, they have a Ragebaiter X Ragebaited dynamic, since Light O (either unintentionally or on purpose) does some pretty stupid things or says things that annoy Durandal at times, but what makes them different is that there are many instances of Durandal joining in on Light O's shenanigans and they share a singular braincell, like during the Team Miracle event where they sync together and K.S Miracle has to deal with it, or the times they pretend to swordfight with eachother.
They also have a Cat Coded X Dog Coded dynamic which I enjoy a lot!
They are not just rivals in sprinting, having faced eachother many times, they are also roommates in the Ritto Dorm as well, and they are best friends.
Durandal looks out for Light O a lot. For example: Finding the archive of one of her favorite shows and even helping her carry her shopping back to their dorm room after she forgot cause of how fast her mind goes.
Light O on the other hand, kept track of all the good things Durandal done everyday at least a few weeks back (which is impressive for someone like her), and used those to praise her the whole day for Durandal's birthday. (DISCLAIMER: THIS CAN BE ARGUED WITH VARYING ON TRANSLATION, CAUSE I HAVE SEEN A VERSION SAYING THAT SAYS THAT IT WAS BOTH LIGHT O AND BELIEVE, SO THIS CAN ALSO BE USED AS CALDURABELIEVE/2000'S POLYSPRINTERS PROPAGANDA IF YOU WISH!!!)
There was also a time where Durandal left her notebook on her desk (she was writing something) and her classmates noticed, so Light O told them to not make fun of her since her writing was very good, and after Durandal found out, she got all embarrassed about it. (really cute....)
My Headcanons For Them! (this will be very long):
•Durandal is the type to overthink her feelings for Light O (there was a period of time where she had a whole lot of feelings denial but eventually came to terms with her love), but Light O thinks too little and is really dense (especially since Durandal isn't really direct)(she didn't even register her feelings until Durandal confessed).
•Durandal gifts Light O cat plushies and Light O now has a growing collection of them that she keeps beside her on her bed.
•Light O's love language (recieving) is physical affection and she likes hugs a lot (this is sort of canon since she wants to hug everyone after winning races), and Durandal's love language is verbal affection (mainly through praise and commendations).
•After getting into a relationship, Durandal learned to be more direct and slowly became less embarrassed to do so., and sometimes, she even is so direct that it shocks Light O and is one of the (rare) moments where Light O could possibly get flustered.
•Whenever they sleep next to eachother they tend to wake up in the weirdest positions possible (Durandal has awful posture and Light O sleepwalks), mind you they both canonically sleeptalk as well, so it's utter chaos.
•They both can't stand being apart for long periods of time (yes, even Durandal, but she doesn't admit it as easily as Light O does).
•Durandal is more of the romantic and uses things she had learned from her novels on Light O, but Light O is the type to have charisma without realizing what she just said, she can just be really smooth unintentionally (or as Daitaku Helios calls it: unspoken rizz).
•Light O occasionally likes using cat ways of expressing love and told Durandal about it when she didn't understand what she was doing. For example: Slow blinking, nuzzling, and Light O even kind of learned how to purr and she purrs sometimes when she cuddles with Durandal.
