Turn-offs: historically inaccurate cosmetics in period dramas
yeah but i feel like forcing actors to wear lead and/or bird poop on their faces qualifies as hazardous working conditions

This Australian fire station’s message for Women’s Day is only the latest example of them being the best.
I didn’t realise this was an Australian fire department! They’re hilarious! I love it!

‘Man shouldn’t be able to see his own face – there’s nothing more sinister. Nature gave him the gift of not being able to see it, and of not being able to stare into his own eyes.
Only in the water of rivers and ponds could he look at his face. And the very posture he had to assume was symbolic. He had to bend over, stoop down, to commit the ignominy of beholding himself.
The inventor of the mirror poisoned the human heart.’
— Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet (1982)

*Deep breath* Okay guys, here’s the thing.
When Melanie was born, I was 246 lbs, before that I was 225. Life wasn’t enjoyable and I felt extremely helpless. I couldn’t run and I couldn’t climb stairs. All of the shootings, fires and other tragedies on the news were constant reminders, that if something terrible were to happen, I was a burden, not a help.
A burden to myself, to Melanie, and to others. What you see here is my personal answer to the call to be prepared. I’m 159 lbs I can run, I’m in great shape and I’m so proud to set this example. My question for 2019 is “Are you prepared?”
If you feel as helpless as I did, I want to encourage you to do something that will help yourself and your loved ones. This is how I am choosing to help my family. Like/follow on FB & IG. I’ll be sharing so much of what I’ve learned with you guys and I cannot wait!
We are so PROUD👏🏼💜💪🏼
Don’t wait until January to start with those New Years resolutions, change your life TODAY🌟
