Lazy Para: Marley Rose
@roseamongthorns
He had done a double take at the dash for a moment. The girl looked so similar to Lucy, her hair that same shade of blonde. Of course she looked nothing inherently like Lucy, the drive wasnt there, the fire. This girl was much more muted, she was a sea of white against a violently colored sky, blending in to the ordinary. She was remarkably plain if he were being honest. Marley, a name he had only heard with herding dogs had offered to show him around.
She didnt have much in the way of manners, didnt use titles, Nate made a mental note to speak with other professors here about her. If his suspicions were correct; she either did not know how to speak to a dominant or chose not to in order to be punished. Both required different approaches bit she could be broken all the same. Nate opened his last box of pictures. He placed them on the bookshelf by his desk, his most prized photo was of him and Lucy, arms wrapped around each other in front of his family ranch. He smiled, bittersweet pressure in his chest and he pulled his phone.
Nate: about your offer to show me around, I'll take you up on it. Consider this my cashed in raincheck. We can meet at the gardens in fifteen minutes. Don't be late
Marley: Okay, the gardens! I'll see you then!
Marley had been working through her emotions, the feelings of loneliness, like she didnt fit in. She was interested in meeting this new person, Mr. Weston. Marley was reconnecting with herself, her music especially. The sadness, the anger, all of it poured of of her. Marley threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, slipping a pair of flats on, making her way to the gardens. She was going to be around ten minutes early. The anxiety of being late outweighed any other emotion she was feeling. Marley was going to have to take Nicks training back into her mind again, this was a dominant, one much older than her and regardless she knew not using titles spelled for bad news for her. Despite all that happened these last two months, she had to admit how good of a dom Nick was and the little training they did together was helpful.
Marley arrived at the gardens, not seeing anyone in sight she sat down in front of the large fountain, she crossed her ankles and waited; humming a soft tune she had been working on. She leaned back on her hands, head titled to the sky, feeling warm end of summer air on her face and blowing gently through her hair. A twig snapped while she basked, her head shot up, Marley fighting the urge to flee from the scene. It was Nate, she recognized his face from his dash video. She smiled at him, waving shyly. "Hello, uh, Hello, Sir" she corrected herself. His face remained blank, she wondered what he was thinking and what he was perceiving her as. She thrived on praise and he gave her none, no reaction to her words.
Nate observed the girl before he stepped a foot further, she seemed so muted, boring almost. He was intrigued. She leaned back toward the sun, as if it could bring a smile to her face that way alone, he cocked his head to the side. he took a few steps forward, she really did look like Lucy. No one could hold a candle to her though, he believed certain people were meant for each other. She was skittish like an untraied mare, he could fix that. She seemed easy enough to figure out and the desperate posts she made on her social media made it no so complex to get that she didn’t know how to be a submissive, ask for a dominant, or frankly ask for human contact. She assumed it would come like some damsel in distress. Another difference between her and Lucy he was finding. “Do you always forget proper titles?” He asked, arms crossing. She looked down at her hands, wringing them together before speaking and explaining herself.Â
