thnk u @air--so--sweet for pointing out the tua prop auction, i am obssessed so ofc im now writing up my own transcripts for stuff. i bet someone else has done this but i couldnt find it so here's my record of it:
this is from Reginald's red book in s1 (i presume the dates are written day/month/year as Reginald is english)
transcript:
"#00.01 Behaviour Part 4 -When given opportunity, he acts in accordance to my expectations, and to my instruction, and only to my expectation and instructions. Further experiments needed to figure out the extent of his blind loyalty. -Unknowable at this time if this productive for the cause or detrimental for the cause. 4/03/01 Conducted experiment in which I sent #00.01 to this woods to watch for threats. Not only did he not ask about said threats, he found ways to come up with his own possible threats. He stood watch in a weak, slight base camp from dawn until dusk, without asking if he should stay on overnight. He is still there. -Is it truly best to have the best follower be the leader??"
transcript:
"5/09/01 Another experiment conducted in which I gave #00.01 an unknowable mission, but this time had him try to lead the team in his cause. I instructed #00.01 to take the team and patrol the state beach. Up and down. Until the threat revealed itself. Within hours all members had referred to pursue mission on such little intel. #00.01 never stopped. Even after the pleading from #00.03. Whom usually shows an emotional weakness for. #00.03 Abilities Part 3 -Makes one wonder if she is all the Umbrella Academy really needs. -Her full potential makes the rest of the team look like an afterthought. -How can I convince her the team needs her? Confounded at not being able to capture a non-existent opponent flag. Their petty feud seems to know no bounds. But if the feud motivates #00.02 in a way to suceed in that types of scale, so be it. Work-load Capacity Ranking 1-#00.05 (negated by disregard for rules and safety) 2-#00.01 (enhanced by propensity to protect siblings) 3-#00.03 (strength in collaboration) 4-#00.06 (follower) 5-#00.04 (untapped and unfocused potential) 6-#00.02 (could be 1st or 6th depending on mood) Discipline Notes -Physical pain yields best results with males. -Emotional trauma yields best results with #00.03 and Klaus. Especially when inflicted on others. -Separation from group does not work on #00.02."
transcript:
"-Sensory Statistics -Visual - 21.4% -Auditory - 8.7% -Kinesthetic - 69.9% -Disorders -Likely tendency toward Oppositional Disorder (ODD) -Maternal family history of possible sociopathy (seems incongruent to dynamics with Seven; background research ongoing ref p.49) -Phobias -Darkness -Solitude -Binds Effective Behaviours Modification Techniques"

my thoughts beneath the cut:
I think Reginald knew Five would disobey him. He was way too good at manipulating the umbrellas not to realise that, without being given a solid reason not to, Five would time travel.
Sure... he does warn him, but Five straight out says he doesn't get it. Everything Reginald does is deliberate, and I just think that if he'd really wanted to stop Five, he not only could have, but would have.
He's known Five for all thirteen years of his life. He knows how to push his buttons, how to make time travel feel like an act of rebellion when it isn't.
But why would Reginald want Five to time travel, you ask?
Well, this is just speculation, but it might've been to scare him. I believe Reginald was already planning on letting Five study time travel: he doesn't say he shouldn't time travel at all, he says that Five isn't ready... (yet). He will be ready one day.
But time travel is big. It's a lot of power in the hands of a kid, especially a kid like Five, who is too smart for his own good and will only get harder to control as he grows older.
But say he time travels. He isn't ready, like Reginald warned him. He gets stuck, like we know he does.
And we also know this:
So, yeah.
What if Reginald knew Five would time travel, and just... let him?
A bad first experience with time travel was likely to leave Five shaken even if he hadn't ended up in an apocalypse- maybe shaken enough to be easier to control for a while, or at least be less likely to use his powers in a way Reginald might not approve of.
Thanks to Klaus, we know that Reggie:
Threatened the end of the world so that the kids would do the dishes
Doled out punishment in the form of laundry duty
Why is that so funny to me?
So in summary, after following deeply flawed but good-hearted characters during four seasons, after watching them struggle to overcome their traumas and become better people, the final message of Umbrella Academy is that if you're dysfunctional and your traumas affect those around you, the best thing you can do for them and the world is to never have been born.
Oh and also that your abusive asshole of a father was right to treat you like disposable trash your whole life.
Like wow, just wow… I'm honestly stunned right now cause I've seen plenty of shitty messages and show endings but I assure you that this is quite a performance.
los ojos de cachorro pateado que tiene Whitaker The Pitt no se habian visto muchachos de ojos tristes así en años
Platonic here, inappropriate there, no but actually the funniest thing about the Whitaker-Amy situation is that these two pictures are just ten months apart. Amy lost the "love of her life," had a baby, and is at risk of having to sell her home, but ten months of hanging with Whitaker was enough to transform her from a devout, staid woman in the most unflattering 1970s maternity blouse into a fashionable smiling young person with a proper haircut. She even dyed her hair! She lost the cross necklace! That's the power of vintage funk! The avocado diet glow-up! Listen, I don't know if this is Whitaker stealthily queer-eyeing his new friend, or if his dick is truly magical, but either way this woman is living her best life.
"his dick is truly magical" AHAHAHAHAHAA
FANFIC FIVE HARGREEVES
From your favorite gossip, Klaus Hargreeves
If you had told me ten years ago that my psychotic little brother—the same one who once planned the assassination of an interdimensional council like he was making a grocery list—would turn into a sickeningly sweet romantic, I would have asked you two things, completely seriously: What drugs are you on? Can I have some?
But now, we’re all more than used to this soft, syrupy, and frankly nauseating version of our dearest Fivey.
Muaks.
Five pulls his lips away from hers by exactly a millimeter.
“Your coffee’s getting cold,” Dona murmurs, and I can see her laugh against his mouth, her eyes half-lidded with amusement.
He doesn’t pull away. Not even a centimeter.
“Coffee is bitter,” he replies, his voice that low purr he only uses for her. “The only sweet thing I need is already right here.”
Muaks.
MUAKS. This one’s a bit stronger. Five tilts his head, deepening the contact for a fraction of a second. His hands—those hands that have disarmed bombs and written equations that bend reality—rest on her waist, his thumbs tracing small circles over the fabric of her shirt.
—Sei tutto ciò che desidero, —he whispers, and my brain takes a second to translate from Italian.
Dona smiles, a blush rising to her cheeks.
“You talk like a romance novel, my love,” she replies, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.
—E tu sei il mio capitolo preferito, —he counters, leaning in again. And you are my favorite chapter.
Muaks. Muak-muak. MUAK. Muaaaaaaaaaaks.
I’m getting heartburn. From my hiding spot behind the cereal bowl, I seriously consider throwing myself out the window. Or yelling “Fire!” to interrupt this crime against singleness.
Five now has his nose buried in her neck, inhaling deeply.
—Odio condividerti con il mondo, —he murmurs, and this time his tone carries that possessive, darker edge that reminds us who he really is.
Viktor Hargreeves from Umbrella Academy is Autistic!
Rip Viktor hargreeves you would've loved an autism diagnosis
Are you ready for season 4 ?
Does Five finally get the hug he so desperately needs?
While I do love the "five can sense what time and place he is" headcanon, I just thought of what'd it look like, and it'd just be the minecraft coords menu lol, Pov: You're Five
I think about this post alot
Augghhhh I miss himb,,,
Why do I think Diego and Lila's relationship was toxic? (Part 2)
Previous part of this series: Part 1
The Handler will also play a big part in this post, as I think it's quite likely that her actions motivated Lila's actions.
Season 2
2x06
Five finds out who Lila really is, and she returns to the Commission. The Handler notices her bracelet and comments that it’s a cliché to fall for your mark. Lila denies it, claiming the bracelet is just a trophy, but the Handler doesn't believe her.
2x07
Lila starts to notice that the Handler is gaining more and more influence in the Commission, and she seems worried about it. She's probably afraid of the consequences of her actions (and rightly so). I get the feeling she doesn't want to face this situation alone and wants to get Diego on her side.
Meanwhile, Diego finds out they’re about to go back in time. He wants to say goodbye to Lila, without mentioning that he wants her to come with them. Five tells him that Lila was just using him, which leaves Diego hurt.
Lila and Diego are reunited, but Diego is angry with her and wants nothing to do with her because she lied to him. Lila defends her lies, yet right after, she drugs him and literally kidnaps him into the Commission. 🚩 It's a very shocking awakening for Diego.
2x08
Lila wants Diego to work for the Commission, and the Handler agrees, but only if Lila takes responsibility for him. Lila brings Diego to training, but he immediately runs away from the Commission to pursue his own plans. Lila seems surprised that Diego left, though it made perfect sense from his perspective—he was never interested in anything like that. Honestly, the fact that she’s angry with him for something like that just shows that Lila has absolutely no idea what’s right and what’s wrong at this point in time.
2x09
Lila learns the truth about her parents' deaths and shifts her focus to getting revenge on Five. Just before that, Lila mentions she loves Diego, but her attention soon turns elsewhere. The Handler is ready to kill Lila, believing she has exposed the truth about her as well. It's a sign that the Handler is truly capable of anything, and I think Lila has always sensed that, at least subconsciously.
2x10
Lila helps carry out the Handler's plans and confronts the Hargreeves family. She’s cold toward Diego, which surprises him, though he only briefly refers to Lila as his ex-girlfriend in front of his family.
Diego discovers that Lila has been manipulated by the Handler since she was a child, and his opinion of her changes immediately. He offers her a chance to join their family. However, just after that, both Diego and Lila are shot. These events are reversed when Five turns back the time a few minutes. The Handler dies, and Lila manages to escape.
--
Honestly? Diego's behavior didn't really make any sense at all. He saw so many red flags, seemed like he wanted nothing to do with her and then changed his mind from one minute to the next (twice). A lot of scenes in S2 are focused on Lila and Five, and in retrospect I feel like it wasn't Five who was the third one in this story.
Really the only positive points in S2 are: Lila saved Diego when he was stabbed in the stomach and also helped him greatly in his escape from the asylum. The rest often involved manipulation and lying. I also think that Lila latched onto him in large part because she sensed that The Handler was a threat to her and needed a backdoor.
