I love how in almost every adaptation of "The Count of Monte Cristo" the Abbe's last words are something like "Remember, do not let vengance consume you. Promise me you won't seek revenge. Justice is served by God" or smth like this, while in the book, the literal source material, he just goes "Find the treasure on the island of Monte Cristo. Get the money" and then dies.

This book is so unhinged, I can't even. It's pure chaos. Don't let anyone ever convince you that it's sophisticated classic literature. Dumas loved drama, schemes, adventures and dumb ironic humor.

So Chainsaw Man just ended and oh my god, can I have a single mainstream manga that doesn't royally fucks up its conclusion ?

Because sorry but no, just no. It will take more than Power and Nayuta to sell me this ending as anything but trash.

Not only all of Denji and Yoru/Asa's development as well as their relationship has been retconned out of existence (what's the fucking point in reading the manga then) but in the end, Denji never really got to decide anything for himself.

He starts with zero agency and ends up at the same spot, because this "happy ending" is something Pochita also forced onto him.

Speaking of that where the fuck is Yoru in this ending ?? Did Fujimoto just... forgot about her ? Oh yeah I mean I can't blame him, it was just the MAIN antagonist of Part 2 ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

And that's without mentioning the serious inconsistencies here, like why the Blood Devil is even back as "Power" but the Control Devil returned as "Nayuta" and not "Makima" ? It really feels like Fujimoto tried to bribe us into accepting this conclusion, I fucking hate this.
