I guess it wasn’t just George overreacting when he said it’s Kimi’s championship to lose. “Someone doesn’t want me to win”. After Canada, he already knew, that’s why he was that deflated. After Monaco’s qualifying he’s basically saying it aloud: “the car felt great at the beginning of the season but since then, it suits Kimi and somehow became undriveable for me and I’m baffled.”

It’s not even subtext anymore. He knows the team wants Kimi to win. He knows the car suited him perfectly at first and then suddenly stopped. It’s not like Mercedes changed the chassis between China and Japan. So yeah. People might be afraid of the word sabotage, but I don’t know what else to call it when the car was great for him until it suddenly wasn’t and he’s become mysteriously much slower.
