14,000 point Level 1 Board 1
Yep, I got to the Fourteen Thousand Club for level 1-1 of Donkey Kong Junior. As far as I know only me, and Mark Kiehl have gotten to this point. This is a one in a thousand type of game. Things just have to click your way big time in order to hit the 14k mark. Luckily I got there. :)
1 Apple 5 Smashes on Vines
I got this score on 7/19/2010 on the machine given to me by the nice folks at 1984 Arcade in Springfield, MO. The score is as far as I know the first ever 1.3 million achieved on the arcade platform.
Here is 10 minutes of DKjr starting at the 4th level. The game is pretty much the same from here on up so the strategies stay the same. I wasn't having the best DKjr day so there are a few dumb moves here and there but you get the idea.
On the Level 4 Hideout, when killing the red spark with the second apple, push a directional and if the timing is right, you will recieve 1200 for both sparks killed. Also try and kill 3 sparks with the top apple and proceed to the far left to jump sparks until the timer gets low, for max points. I didn't stay on the levels long, as watching that is boring as hell, so yeah there are a lot of lost points.
1984 Arcade in Springfield, MO was kind enough to give me this machine, so I thought it might be a good idea to post up a video of DKJr demonstrating some strategies and point-enhancing techniques. When I first started playing DKJr, there was nothing on the web really to help with gameplay strategy so hopefully this will help some players out.
Level 3 Point Pressing Strategy
OK, I am not too sure, but I don't know if this has been done before. This basically will yield a person about 600 points extra on this level. I know it is now much but, hey every little bit helps.

Donkey Kong Junior 186,800 Point (After 4 Levels)
I have never hit 180,000 at the end of Level 4 with no deaths, and so imagine my surprise when I not only hit 180,000 I cleared it by 6800 points! I don't know if I will ever get a score like this at the end of level 4 again without any deaths.
Donkey Kong Junior 23,600 Level 1
I decided to upload this video of me achieving what is my best score to date after completing Level 1. My previous high was 22,800. At first I started out slow on the first board with a average score of 10,400. The second board I really was lucky, and was able to pull of my highest score to date after Level 1. Soon after I made a couple of mistakes, and did not do to great for the game. But none the less I am happy to accomplish this. :)
Donkey Kong Junior Arcade 1,168,300 on 1st man!
This is by far my best start on just one man. In fact this possibly could be the highest score ever achieved on one man. I died on the last hideout stage intentionally because I needed to start sacrificing my men in order to get a higher score over all. I ended the game with a 1,230,000 score, which placed me as the third highest score of all time behind Mark Kiehl, and Billy Mitchell, and one place ahead of the legendary Steve Wiebe. Also as a warning I did have bad allergies during this game play, and so I touch my nose over 100 times in the video. Also I had played an hour and a half game prior, and tush was getting sore, and so that was the reason for me standing up every 15 minutes or so.
This video has been created and uploaded with the permission of the player. At the time of this upload, this is the second highest MAME score ever verified and available, the 4th highest of all time if you include the Arcade platform. It should be noted that this player learned the game and achieved this score within 10 weeks!
