Elna Borch’s Death and the Maiden. The original can be found in the Glyptoteket in Copenhagen.
Never forget May 4th, 1970
Some new pieces in 2024.
The magic of Mylar! I created a stencil of Degas’ Little Dancer Aged 14 out of Mylar and then used different combinations of paints to put together a small collection of paintings.
I’m going to put this stencil away for a bit to focus on some other pieces but I’m sure I’ll come back to her again in the future.
Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the shootings at Kent State University. On May 4th, 1970, the Ohio National Guard randomly fired into a group of students protesting the Nixon Administration’s bombing of Cambodia (which was technically a neutral country in the Vietnam War). Thirteen students were struck by bullets and four were killed.
Of the four killed, two were not even participating in the protest. The guard simply became frustrated and fired on unarmed college students. People have claimed all sorts of things about the demonstration to justify the shootings but the reality is there is no evidence to support any of the claims. They just turned, in unison, and fired into a crowd.

Penelope based on Jens Adolf Jerichau’s sculpture. The sculpture can be found at the Glypoteket in Copenhagen.
She’s done! When I was in Copenhagen in November I went to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek for a day (thanks to Søs and family for planning the day and including me). It was a good opportunity for me to photograph some of the sculptures. I’ve been using sculptures more and more frequently as subjects for my paintings. This is my painting of Degas’ Little Dancer of Fourteen Years (La Petite Danseuse de quatorze ans).
This is a seven level stencil on wood board using MTN 94 paints.

It has been years since I’ve been in Austria. Great to be back!
Pretzels, beers, dirndls, blue skies...Thanks München!

A match made in heaven...
I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time on public transportation over the past twenty years.
I had about five hours for a wander in Frankfurt. I managed to squeeze in the Old Opera House, a walk to the Old Jewish Cemetery, a trip through the old part of the city, and a quick look through Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus.
