HISTORY
in the late winter of 1970, a young michaelย fallonย went on a delayed post-graduation trip to ireland where he met the beautiful saoriseย mccarthyย in a pub on the outskirts of dublin. though michael did not know it at the time, saoriseย had just celebrated her own graduation that summer from hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. they laughed and drank together all night long, stumbling their way back to the young witchโs flat for a nightcap.ย a mere two months later, michael fallonย --ย back in his new york studio apartmentย --ย received a letter from saorise that she was pregnant, that she didnโt want or expect anything from him and she just wanted him to know. without a second thought, michaelย packed all of his belongings, booked a plane ticket, and called his landlord before heading to the airport. he had had an absentee father, there was no way he was going to be one.ย the reunion surprised saorise, but she welcomed it, realizing that she would have to expose michael to her world. the two quickly married though they did not know each other well, as were the times. by the time that their child was born, they had fallen into a comfortable relationship in their marriageย --ย not quite purely romantic, but certainly not purely platonic either.ย then,ย on september 23, 1971, michael and saorise fallon welcomed their son donal into the world.
donal was a rambunctious child, but incredibly sweet and charming, which made michael and saorise decide to have another child together. donalโs sister siobhan came along four years after his birth, and then their sister bryna joined a year after that. while michael and saorise are still not necessarily a romantic partnership, their marriage holds strong and their family remains tight knit.
