Today the shadow of you

Didn't throw me for a loop

There are shapes bigger and cruel

I forget what they can outdo

And even for today I've forgotten you

A reprieve I hardly knew

A small cost- shades of blue

A new loss of a different hue

mourn/reborn

I get off never knowing what’s next

Tell myself it’s exciting to perplex

Have I met a sense of self

Is this directionless wealth

Shifting around the box

Pretending there’s no lock

An illusion of freedom

Caged in ego deepens

Victim of choice

Creator of my own noise

Sifting in and out of form

Shifting, mourn, reborn

Thoughts of you keep me up at night

The silence ringing in your sound

So i’ve learned to love the morning light

listening to you all around

This time i'm not running from the hollow

I know you’ll be gone tomorrow

I know our time’s run dry

I only want to say goodbye

In my own time

You’ll be a line

Come morning’s shine

I’ll be fine

I’ll revel in dreams of yesterday

When the fire was a place to play

And in each other was safe to stay

I should be done with you

But I'm not ready to believe the truth

I wasn't who you belonged to

Not who you showed me too

Despite this I still want you

Maybe I’m lying too

When I was younger I was safe gone

I always wanted to run

It was a similar hunger

As i fall to my knees

Consume me with ease

Breads thinner and pale

Or have i grown stale

Watch me love

Watch me drown

Still blame myself when I fall again

Even if it’s not pretend

Even when it’s real again

I want to see beyond the end

Tracing steps backwards

We meet at the right words

Name the you in me

Do you understand what i mean

Our geometric reflections

Tracing steps in succession

Ricocheted opposition

Orbits our condition

Should we collide

Meet again in the night

Find your hand in mine

Little comet in time

Nothing is true everything’s allowed

Only when the good is here do we see the bad creeping near

Silhouette of what we held dear

Asking again what it can steal

The cold breaks my chest open

Farther than its ever spread

Breathing out thin

Breathing crumbling in

I call you up with new excuses to talk

With promises to tomorrow we’ll stop

I’m selfish with your attention

Even when I’m not let in

When we’re in the dark

When we know there’s a new start

The wind of tomorrow rings bells to move on

We dig our heels refusing its song

Trumpets and chimes

Sound in the times

Waves push again, out feet disappear

Beneath the sand, the water’s so clear

No place to land, only a home’s veneer

The line’s ringing, new ripples to steer

wake up its here

the imagination is real

how does it feel

when dreams aren’t surreal

does it give the same appeal

are you spotless and healed

do you look for cracks in the seal

do you hold out in fear

no one tells you careful its near

today the imagination is real

I’ve spent so long returning to echoes of you,

I lost sense of the illusion or any truth.

That I am my home.
