“I feel like ‘hot yoga’ will probably kill someone someday” she said shaking her head “I’m Jay by the way”

“We have a lot of rules and disclaimers and consent forms we hand out. We take a lot of precautions as well. And we constantly tell our classes not to do anything uncomfortable and it is okay if you need to leave,” she explains. Giving a smile, she spoke, “I’m Melanie. Nice to meet you, Jay.”

“Good to know. Don’t tell me liability insurance is included in that long list of things” she said “pleasure to meet you too Melanie”

“People come before an after 5, though I must thank you because of those classes they extended my work hours, and I get paid more.” she said with a nod “Please tell me you’re not one of those yoga classes where they work out in 38 degree heat?… that’s in Celsius by the way”

“Oh, okay! Well then you’re welcome.” Melanie takes a moment to think, “I’m going to be honest, I don’t know how to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, but I am presuming you’re talking about hot yoga. Every once in awhile I’ll teach it, but only subbing in. Not on the regular.”

“I don’t like yoga so I wouldn’t know. Though I now know why I get a large group of people at 5 AM asking for coffee”

“Well, they wouldn’t be coming at five, but if you see them in their yoga clad they’re probably my six o’clock class. Not as popular, but still more so than my eight o’clock.”

“I’m sorry, I’m having a hard time finding this place. Do you know where this is,” he showed his phone to the stranger. “I’m trying to check out this daycare for my daughter but I have absolutely no idea where it is. I swear if my head wasn’t already attached to my body..” he laughed.

jay looked at the man’s phone “Go down the road two blocks, make a left, walk another block and its on the street corner on the right hand side”

“After a long day of work, all I want to do to is go get a drink. What do you say? First round is on me if you join me.”

“That very generous, but I’m gonna have to pass” Jay said taking a sip of wine

“My five o’clock morning yoga class is one of the busiest of the day. Can you believe that? I mean…who knew that people would be getting up that early to come do yoga with me.”

“They have types of coffee that aren’t bitter, you know.” He teases her.

“Yes I know, I make them everyday. I have still yet to understand the appeal of a pumpkin spice latte” she shook her head

“Believe me I’ve noticed” Jay said with a small chuckle

Annie laughed as she sipped on the drink. “Is it really that much? I try to make coffee at home most days.”

“Quite often. Though I’m not complaining, you’re one of few costumers that doesn’t annoy me...” she said with a groan “I need a holiday”

“It’s a passion of mine. I actually want to go to culinary school.”  she said “Though I like most art forms, drawing, music, painting. Which yes I consider culinary work as an art form”

“I agree with you - it’s definitely art. People can do so much in the kitchen,” Tegan smiled. “What city do you think you’d go to culinary school in?”

“Probably here in Monterey” she said “That way I would be able to go to school and have my job”

“Don’t be love” she said with a smile, before sarcastically saying “So terrifying” 

Alfie chuckled and snuggled the dogs close. “I really hope you find a best friend. Dogs are beautiful…” he grinned. “Dogs truly make everything better.”

"I couldn't agree more" she said with a smile "though I'm thinking about that lab back in the adoption room"

“That’s me with shellfish” she said shaking her head “I look like a bloody pufferfish” she laughed “though it can’t be as bad as looking like that for a school photo”

Josephine laughed. “Yeah, let’s just say I was not very happy that day.”

"I'd bet. I've alway hated school photos in general but for that to happen would make it worse" she stated

“Well I’m not sure yet, though nothing with peanuts. I don’t like them” she stated shaking her head as they walked.

Josephine grinned when she said that they weren’t going to have anything with peanuts in it, because she didn’t like it. “Well, my face and body is very grateful for you and that decision. Seriously though, whenever I eat peanuts, my whole face blows up and I look like someone’s used me as a punching bag of some sort. It was insane.” Shaking her head, the brunette smiled softly at the other. “So, yeah. Let’s just say I don’t want that to happen again. It was for a school photo too, I remember. The next day, I was supposed to take a school photo and I looked horrendous.”

“Probably mine. I have all my cooking items there,” she said with a smirk.

“Ah. Good point!” Josephine said and laughed, nodding her head in agreement to the words coming from the other female’s mouth. “What are you making, then, hmm? I have to let you know though, I am allergic to peanuts.” The dark-haired girl chuckled softly and nodded in the direction of where they were headed, as they wanted to get a cup of coffee somewhere.

“Yay! I’m excited. Your place or mine?”

"Probably mine. I have all my cooking items their" she said with a smirk

“I guess so, but I prefer wine” she said with a laugh “Just say when, I’m usually free.”

“Then, wine it is! Well, I should be free this upcoming weekend, if you want?”

She chuckled softly “Yes well you’ll have to try my food first before making that opinion”

“Good point. Well, sweetheart, since this friendship of ours is blossoming so much, how about we meet up and make something to eat and share a bottle of wine? Or Vodka, depends what you like drinking, I suppose.” Josephine laughed.

Jay laughed “Sure why not. Though I couldn’t beat Ramsey, and yes you got his name right love”

“We’ll see about that. Just you wait, in not too long, you’ll be on everyone’s lips for your amazing food making skills. Although I haven’t actually tasted your food yet, I believe you’ll do it nonetheless.” Josephine grinned and hummed softly.
