Don’t you think it was a tad inappropriate? “Oh, yeah. Definitely. I mean, you don’t go around talking to someone like that, but then again, i can respect her going after what she wants, which looks like, is you. You can’t say there’s anything wrong with that.” Josephine shrugged her shoulders. “Gotta respect a girl for going after what she wants, though, it doesn’t mean that I think the way she did it, was a good way to do it.” Shaking her head, the brunette laughed and she licked her lips absentmindedly while keeping her dark eyes on Elijah. That’s a line I don’t like to cross professionally. She pushed herself off the trunk and followed him as he began to walk into the firehouse. Running a little, she skipped over to him and she bumped her shoulder against his as she looked up at him. “Always so professional, Elijah,” she said and giggled. I’m glad that I have your approval.
Josephine looked up at Elijah and grinned widely, her white teeth on full display. “You’re very welcome.” Why are you so worked up about this? If you think she sounds so amazing, maybe you should date her. I can give you her number. “Ohh, maybe I should,” Josephine spoke and rubbed her chin, pretending to think about it, then she began to laugh and shrug her shoulders afterwards. “I don’t know, okay? I just… I guess I feel like playing cupid.” She stopped in her tracks and looked at Elijah. “Is there anything wrong with that?”
“I don’t think she had any interest in me. In terms of getting to know me personally. I think we both know what she wanted.” He teases as he looks down to Josephine, letting out a sigh. It’s never gone to his head, but over the years Elijah has definitely dealt with his fair share of being hit on. Of course he found it flattering, but for the longest time she was already with someone. Somehow, being single was still new to him even when he had been broken up with his ex for a year now. “I admire her for going after what she wants. And hey, maybe I could’ve gone and had a great time. Hopefully she found someone else.” He shrugs, reaching for a cup to get some coffee, setting out a second cup in case Josephine wants some. “I try to be,” the man nods as she says he’s always professional. “But we’ve all crossed lines before.” He says simply, shrugging his shoulders as he takes a sip of coffee.
He just laughs softly, shaking his head at her. “Let me know. I’m sure the movie is still playing, you could always go with her.” Elijah offers teasingly as he leans up against the counter. As she says she feels like playing Cupid, he can’t help but sigh. Elijah knows she has good intentions, but he doesn’t think he’s ready for anything like that, especially an actual date. Hooking up with people here and there, yeah. However, another actual relationship wasn’t happening anytime soon with the mindset he had now. “I’m actually not looking for anything. So, as much as I appreciate your efforts, they’re going to waste with me.” He says simply.
