Ok so no one asked but I’ve been having some massive feelings abt how relationships are portrayed in DST no I’m not talking abt shipping I’m talking abt the relationships that exist in the text of the game they’re just so strong and powerful and it hits me a lot rn
The way that Wendy and Abigail’s relationship is portrayed as more powerful than death itself, how Abigail essentially cares for her sister eternally and ensures her safety and takes care of her no matter what
The contrast between them and Winona and Charlie’s relationship, where Winona wanted to protect her, to save her, to find her safe somehow against all odds only to be pulled by her into the Constant, occasionally poking fun but ultimately here for her more than anything else, even though there’s nothing she can really do
How Maxwell still begs Charlie’s forgiveness every time she catches him in the dark, hoping that maybe this time, things will be different
The fact that, regardless of your headcanons, it’s canon that the survivors all work and put up with and live with Maxwell, that however angry they may be, they do see him as one of them
The little things like how Webber seems to mimic Wilson’s commentary on things, might be them being his lost child, but it might also just be Webber copying him, adopting him as his new dad, latching onto him and using him as a guide for how to feel
