(Like, badly enough that I am considering doing it. Bc I live in North Germany, right? Which means I am not altogether THAT far from Hamburg, really. And well, the Queen Mary 2 aka the ship that is generally considered to be the very last Oceanliner, still on the Hamburg - Southampton - New York route. Like I really could just go on vacation and simply not take a train or plane to get there it'll just take longer and also cost more money.)

Train ferries are a thing, so we could make it possible by having the train embarks in New York, disembarks in a French port, and rides to Paris.

At that points it's simpler to just bring back ocean liners; and the reason we got rid of ocean liners is because they take over a week.

So if we were to reconnect those parts of the world by means other than plane you hop off in New York and get back on in some port city.

On the other hand, an assumed train going 500 km/h would probably take something like a day and a half so beats. So probably not worth it.

the practicum site of my dreams that I've had lined up since this past April has fallen through because **apparently** the organization is no longer an "acceptable [university name] partner" due to some kind of ethical issues on their part.

which the [university name] counseling department has known since this past June but they only let me know one week ago.

so now *I* get to find a *brand new practicum site* with less than three weeks to go before the new semester and I'm (predictably) not having a hell of a lot of luck. 😁

in the one interview I've had so far, the person interviewing me commented at the end that I seemed "desperate" (tbf I did sweat through my shirt, but still) and like I was "just trying to tick a box".

I've been banging on doors (physical and metaphorical) for a week now and I'm starting to think that I need to give up for my own sanity.

The truth of the matter is that if you’re going to seriously pursue writing, not every line can go hard. It can’t be hard 100% of the time, or the hard just becomes soft. Sometimes the line just has to get the writing from point a to point b.
