Between the excitement over Galaxy’s Edge (which I will be seeing in December) and The Rise of Skywalker, I’ve decided to bring my array of SW ladies back. Only this time they are all conveniently on one blog as I seem to do well with genre-based multis. So you can now find Leia over there.

Ben kept pacing the floor; he would calm down about the idea of his family meeting his girlfriend…well, never at this rate. But she was human and he honestly didn’t know what to expect out of them all. Breha had found her mate inside of the pack but for him…he was next to certain Rey was the one and he didn’t want to scare her off.

“Yeah but those humans weren’t dating a member of the pack. What if something goes wrong? She doesn’t know what I am yet; what if someone slips?“

“Well then we ask everyone not to wear their flashing neon pins that say ‘werewolf’. Honestly, Benny. It’s going to be fine. It’s just going to be family. Your dad and I, your sister, Poe, Ani, Chewie...maybe your grandparents...I haven’t checked in with them yet...and your aunt Amilyn who, being human, I thought might help. No one is going to say anything.” Except potentially Ani but Leia had faith they could keep the boy distracted.

“How many rock stars do you know of that are named ‘Benjamin’? All of the best became someone else and that’s exactly what I’m doing.“

“Off the top of my head? What about that boy in Good Charlotte? Benji something? And then isn’t there an entire band called Ben Folds Five or something...plenty of rock stars have normal names.”

Sabe led Leia out into the inner park, never letting go of her small frame, fearful the teenager would break into pieces if she did. Sabe knew Padme and Leia didn’t have the best of relationships but she could only imagine how terrible she must be feeling with all of this–Sabe herself didn’t want to stop and think what her world would be without Padme in it; she couldn’t allow herself to think that when the kids needed her.

“No, look at me,” she said firmly standing in front of Leia and setting her hands over the blonde’s shoulders. “You are not responsible of this. This is your mother’s doing, no one else’s and if your brother is trying to guilt trip you into thinking otherwise I’m going to have a serious conversation with him.”

Luke nodded at his father without looking away from Padme, “yeah, I’ll be here,” he whispered holding onto Padme’s hand, staring at it hoping she’d move.

Anakin headed back to where he and Luke had initially left Leia and nearly panicked when she was no where to be found. The nurse at the desk saw him looking around frantically for his daughter and mentioned that Sabe had arrived. His shoulders relaxed then; if Sabe was there, Leia had to be with her and perhaps Padme’s assistant would be able to reach her better than he had.

Following the nurse’s direction, he found the hospital’s inner park and hung back for a moment, not wanting to interrupt.

As the familiar weight of Sabe’s hands came down upon her shoulders, Leia looked up at the older female. And for the first time since the call came about her mom, she let go of the tears she had been holding back. She hadn’t wanted to cry in front of Luke or her dad. But now, here, with Sabe...she allowed it. 

“It is though! He’s right. I...we’ve been fighting all the time. Like ALL the time. It had to have been stressing her out. And there’s no way that didn’t contribute to this. She basically said as much the other night.” Well, no. She didn’t. Because Padme would never say such a thing. But she did call Leia exhausting. Which, to be fair, she had been. But still...if she was exhausting her mother than clearly she was adding to this.

It was her fault her mom was up there. She knew it was.

Padme didn’t even know why she wanted a wig. The thought of putting wigs and being playful was something she may want to share with Sabe and not her teenage daughter.

“I have to say it’s easier to manage. I do miss my long hair though,” she sighed taking her hand over the buzzcut. “But I’ll take this if it mesns being okay–okayish.”

“I’ve been meaning to ask you something,” Padme started with a hint of nervourness considering their recent past arguments over this topic. “Would you go to the women’s march with me?”

For a moment, the subject of wigs were forgotten, Leia afraid that the ‘something’ her mother had been meaning to ask her would be more serious. But once she heard the actual question, she felt a weight lift and she smiled. Yes, Leia Skywalker actually smiled at something her mother suggested.

“Really? Yeah. I’d love to! We could even make signs together...I mean...if you wanted...”

“Should I get a wig?”

It was at Sabe’s urging that Leia was spending more time at her mother’s -- a chance to finally bridge the gap that had existed between them. A chance to start over.

Plus, you know, her father seemed to be spending quite a bit of time over there as well. Something Leia wasn’t quite sure of and something that she desperately needed to talk with Luke about. But later.

“I don’t know. Do you want one? I mean the buzzcut look is kind of all the rage right now. Mostly with the avant garde types, but you could rock it.”

//Gonna post a brief apology for being kind of AWOL this week. I’m actually in CA, preparing for my HS Best Friend’s bachelorette party and bridal shower. Tomorrow and Friday we’ll be in Disneyland, making her do a scavenger hunt and partying in the Disneyland hotel. And then Saturday is her “pirates and pearls” shower at her mom’s house.

I then fly home Sunday to celebrate my gf’s birthday on Monday.

So while I may get one or two small things up, expect regular posting to resume on Tuesday.

“Thank you, because as much as I try to cover for you, you and your smuggler are making it harder for me to keep doing that.” He said, looking at his stepdaughter. He knew how much she loved Han, but he also knew she needed time away from him too.

Her comment about Luke, however, made him raise an eyebrow at her. “I can’t say for certain, mainly because I never brought it up with him, but it’s a possibility.”

Hey now. She and Han had plenty of time away from each other -- like every time she was home. Or when she was busy organizing one of her rallies; though lately Han had started helping with those. At least when it came to carting stuff about; he and Chewie were hella useful then.

“I was afraid of that.” The fact that Obi didn’t just straight up say no had Leia worried that the answer was yes. She didn’t want to hurt her brother -- under all their fighting and teasing, Luke was her best friend. But at the same time...she loved Han. “What do I do? Do I say something to him?”

UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR.

“Oh trust me, I know.” He said with a chuckle. “You think you get an earful? You don’t have to listen to him telling you the whole situation, and complain about it while he paces your study.” He said, leaning back, looking at her. He knew he should be more strict, but maybe Han wasn’t as bad as Anakin was so inclined to believe. Just because the boy was a smuggler didn’t make him all bad, right?

“How about this. I promise not to tell your father, but in return, you have to promise me you’ll limit these late night talks of yours.” He looked at her, knowing the compromise wasn’t that extreme, at least to him. “Deal?”

She could totally see her dad pacing back and forth in Obi’s study as he complained about Han and the type of influence he was on Leia. Thankfully, Obi was much more reasonable when it came to her interest in the boy. And their late night discussions.

“I promise. We’ll try to cut it down to once of twice a week. But while we’re talking...” She looked around to make sure she and Obi were still alone and that Luke or her Dad had not snuck into the background as they so often did. “Luke’s been kind of weird lately. Like ever since it came out about me and Han. You don’t...do you think Luke likes Han?”
