there was little that could have saved her life or altered her ultimate decision, at the very end. perhaps she'd been doomed since blood and cheese: since she was forced to select the son who was meant to die. helaena had been not only a queen, but the queen. the queen of an entire country, though she desired much else, as she'd told her mother. she craved a simple life, and that was one that was denied to her. she understood her brother-husband's grief, as he'd lost their child, too. however, there was blood on aegon's hands which he could not hope to comprehend either. it was late at night when helaena took her stroll, her bare heels hitting the cracks in the sidewalk as the coldness of the night infilitrated her bones. she was a beautiful young woman, with violet eyes and hair as silver as could be, pooling down her back. when she encountered the other person, a crooked smile took to her features. "good morning, sir," she greeted, ever pleasant, especially considering her background. "it has caught me unawares that many others enjoy such settings for strolls." that provided her with some type of solace.

sleep wasn't a friend. he wasn't sure it had ever been a friend, not with how his mind worked. however, after the loss of his family ; sleep was rare for him. sure, he'd get the odd few hours here and there. normally stretched out across his boss' couch but he knew how to function with it and often did. company wasn't what he expected at this hour but it wasn't completely unwanted either. something he was only finding out as the young woman approached. "good... well, i guess it is morning. isn't it?" his smile lit up easily which made it difficult to see the grief underneath it. unable to help himself, letting his eyes take in any important details he thought would be important about her. there was an innocence about her that was almost breathtaking for him. he saw a lot of ugly in his line work, and of course, some good but this was something else entirely. "please call me patrick, i'm patrick jane." holding out a hand to her. "and you are?" being polite because he had been given no reason not to be. "oh yeah, couldn't sleep so..." here he was. @noonecallsusanymore
