1x01 vs 1x03 - How Garrett Graham likes his coffee..
she loved him with every fibre of her being. she did. however since remembering titus? she was really struggling to even look at her husband right now. "you look like him..." she whispered, a choked sob leaving her. "you look like titus. he tried to kill me and my sister. the only way i could try to save us both was agreeing to marry him. it was fucked up and to make things worse; he kissed me. i didn't want any of it but i had to try to save us. but you could be his fucking twin." grace wiped at her eyes. "it's freaking me out, finn. like really freaking me out." @fatherfigcres
"ah. now, that is a complication that i did not see coming." was she afraid of him now? did she hate him? finn hoped that was not the case. he didn't... feelings were not for him, they had never been, but he could feel his heart breaking at the thought that she would see him differently, from now on. that could not be. "i am so sorry. i truly am, but.. i am not him. i would never hurt you. never. i'd sooner hurt myself."
starter call / vanessa & anyone / @fatherfigcres
“i don't think anyone's ever asked me that before. or maybe they have. it's been too long." vanessa hummed and looked at them thoughtfully. “i used to think that i was fulfilled. that i got exactly what i wanted. but lately i'm not so sure. life has a way of throwing us curveballs."
"it's what i do. ask things no one else ever has." tony stark had never been known how to be quiet. really, truly, he had no idea how and he did not care. if he didn't ask those questions, who would? he nodded along, as he listened to vanessa speak. he did get it, in a way. he was used to those curveballs, especially. "maybe you should do something about that, then? get out of that one bad, unfilled spot?"
@fatherfigcres said — [ SPACE ]: sender pushes between the receiver and the threat and begins to move forward, invading the threat's personal space as both a means of intimidation and a way of getting them away from the receiver.
“brute!” catherine shouted back at the stranger, a villager she did not know. she tried to physically push past heathcliff when he shoved her behind him, but that was no use. he was already defending her without a thought. and she could tell he was angry. “do not ever speak to me that way.” she bit back at him, attempting to move around heathcliff again. “next time i'll tear your heart out."
"cathy. stay back." a hiss escaped his lips, as healthcliff pushed her behind him. she would not move, if he had anything to say about it. not while there was any danger around them. it was foolish, perhaps, to think that he could protect her from any kind of harm, but it would not stop him from trying all of the same, for what was more important than keeping her safe? " you heard her ," healthcliff's eyes did not leave the threat in front of them. not for a second. "you ought to get on going now. or i may make it so the lady's threat is fulfilled. now." he did not jest.

“it's fine. everything's okay … it's fine.” nina kept repeating softly as andrew lead her out of the chaos inside the restaurant. they'd been having a nice meal and there was a physical altercation at another table. it happened to be only a few feet from them and when a wine glass was thrown down, one of the shards scratched her cheekbone. barely missed her eye. nina was still holding the cloth napkin over the cut as they made it onto the sidewalk. she could feel andrew practically vibrating with anger and it made her body stiffen. surely he wouldn't be angry at her for this.
“what the hell were you thinking? sitting so close to that asshole? you were nearly on his lap. no wonder the fucking glass hit you. if it had been anything more serious, i would have had to put hin through a wall and then, where would we be?” he hissed, leading her away from the crowd. andrew was, without a doubt, putting the anger where it shouldn’t be. but it had been an important restaurant, there were people that he worked with there and.. well. he did not like having his image ruined. what would people think? “next time, we’ll stay home,” he continued on leading her away, before stopping abruptly, turning to her. when he did, his words surprisingly gentle. they hadn’t been, a minute ago. or before that. “let me see. you may need stitches.”
“aww, baby. this guilt trip is brutal. really sorry.” nina cooed and tilted her head to look into andrew's intense eyes. she could tell he was studying her, making sure that she filed the new rule to memory. they were easier to follow now. kept her on her toes. “roasted chicken with steamed veggies, mashed cauliflower, side salad, garlic knots. just have to put everything on the table."
“as long as it doesn’t happen again, i think it’s quite alright. i’ll forgive it with how beautiful you look tonight.” andrew’s eyes looked up and down, studying her expression. well, he’d let it go. there were worse kinds of betrayal, after all. his smile widened, pulling her closed to him. “won’t you look at that? i’m the luckiest man in the world,” it did feel like that. during the best moments, at leas, such as this one right here. “cece won’t like not having her dinosaur chicken nuggets, though. we may have to convince her, hm? i don’t want your good work to go to waste.”
“i'm doing this for our daughter. this isn't healthy. it's not a healthy environment for her to be in. deep down you have to know that. you do, right?" there was no way that andrew could be oblivious to this. he was intelligent, well spoken, book smart. he knew. his justification made her suck in a shaky breath. “no, i don't know that. it wasn't necessary.” she argued, feeling sick to her stomach. “the reason i'm the way that i am is because of you. because of how you treat me.” nina took a step to the left to block him from entering the room. “conditions need to be put in writing, notarized by an attorney of my choosing, and signed by you. otherwise, we're not coming back.”
“i know no such thing. we have a home that most people would kill to have. you don’t have to lift a finger all day. cece is… she’s a princess. treated as one. you really want to take that away? her future?” deep down, there was a part of him that knew that this was somewhat wrong. but it had been buried deep by things he’d never admit; such as his childhood and the fear of letting her go and.. having.. nothing. nothing at all. wasn’t that where his dependence came from? he couldn’t be without her. “it was, nina. you know it was. you need to be.. taught, sometimes. otherwise, you’d end up burning our house down.” andrew simply sighed, as if he had already listened to enough. “sweetheart, come on. we both know it’s your past that made you this way. not me. shall i start listing the numerous events?” arms crossed over his chest. they’d see about that. “oh, conditions, such as?” he’d let her speak.

cecilia had managed to fool most of the other people she'd met from her past but... she knew she was never going to be able to pull the wool over her father's eyes. no matter how hard she tried. "look, i have already told you that you have me mistaken! my name is amy." she argued, crossing her arms over her chest. "i'm not your daughter or whoever the hell you're confusing me with. i'm sorry. i hope you find her but it isn't me, okay?" she turned on her heel to try to walk away but she really didn't see him buying it.
"you ought to start trying to be a better liar, daughter. this does not suit you." finn was seething. well, that would have been saying little, because she was a liar. he knew she knew who he was. he knew she remembered and he knew this was his daughter and.. well, she was going to be punished. all in due time. who did she think she was, really? "cecilia. should you walk another step, i'm sad to say you will regret it. hm?”

"it's because i'm scared, charlie. i... i am frightened that you will see who i really am and that i will never see you again. that you will turn around and walk out of my life." carlisle admitted. "when i met esme... she found out what i was in a very different way. i didn't have to have this kind of conversation." since he had turned esme to save her life and moved from there. "charlie... i'm not... human. i haven't been human since 1663. i have not aged since then. i have not changed physically since then. i am..." he hated the term vampire but he knew it was the best one for this situation, wasn't it? "i'm... what you would call a vampire. or what the books and movies would call a vampire." @fatherfigcres
"what? like you've been doing ever since we started... whatever this is? stop it, carlisle. enough! just say it. you don't want me and that's it and because you have some kind of messed up idea that you know what's good for me? i never said i wanted that! i just wanted you!" he was close to the point of throwing his hands up, because.. who the hell could have handled anything like this? he didn't and no matter how much it was "right. your wife. maybe you should have stayed with her, then." not what he had wanted to say, but.. all notions of that would have soon been whipped away from charlie's mind. "what? what.. what on earth are you talking about? you... you... is this serious?" @ragdclls
"yeah. you could say that, hun," finnick answered, trying for a little smile and he managed that. he could manage anything for annie cresta. she was a good person: far better than he was, even if that was unfair. all that he'd done, he'd done under duress. some people back in panem did not understand his love for annie. but their opinions did not matter to him. he loved her exactly as she was. he would never change anything about her. of course, he wished her internal peace. and he wanted to give her that, as much as he could. "you're the only person i feel one hundred percent safe with, you know? you're the only one who can help me to relax." even if he could not forget. none of them could do that.
"finn, you're here. we're safe. we're away. the capitol can't get to us." annie repeated those last three sentences to herself, time and time again, hoping that was going to calm her down a little bit. whenever finnick was nearby? it was the only time that she was able to breath, but it was also the one time that she was the most nervous, because she felt like someone was going to come and take him away from her again. yes? yes. it was why she had to remind him, as much as she had to remind herself, that everything was going to be alright. that they were going to be fine. they had to be, yes? "i'm here." @noonecallsusanymore
millie shrugged her shoulders. "just woke up. it's not nice waking up to an empty bed, you know?" she teased with a smirk, giggling softly as he pulled her onto his lap. "keep thinking about shit? what shit are you thinking about?" she questioned before resting one hand on his chest while the other cupped his cheek. "talk to me." millie didn't know exactly when she had fallen completely head over heels for him. she just knew that she had and she didn't want to lose him. he was the one good thing she had found in such a long time. @fatherfigcres
"oh, i apologize. felt like i had worn you out enough before that that you'd be fast asleep." blake grinned, knowing that he was joking around in hopes that she would.. not notice that he was losing his mind? it was close to never happening and yes, that was part of why he loved her as much as he did. because she knew. because she saw and because she cared and wasn't that more than most people could get, these days? "the past. life. my ex-wife. i keep thinkin' she'll show up to take tobes away from me." @ragdclls
