Welcoming Spiritual Buzz to the Don’t Look Down Family, an Acoustic Duo Going on Tour Indefinitely
Being a DIY touring group of musicians is never easy. Gas is expensive, floors are hard, and shows can be hard to book. But, the payoff is being able to play music and make new friends just about everyday of your life. I had a phone call with Jay Why (guitar/vox in The Vibrating Antennas & Guitar in Sabertooth Zombie) today, and he explained that the pursuit is to wake up everyday, and just enjoy playing music and to see the country. I support that, and I hope you do too. They are selling all of their belongings, giving up their house, and moving into a van. That’s crazy.
Below is a biography of the band written by Scott Philips of Creative Adult / Purple Mercy:
Spiritual Buzz is the hazy, daydreamy, fuzzy and warm new two-piece from Santa Rosa musicians Jay Mcneilly (JY) and Cory Routh. Their debut EP, Let Us Go, projects six tracks of chilled-out, psyched-out acoustic flamethrowers into the ionosphere, atmosphere or whichever 'sphere you prefer (personally, I'm a biosphere kinda guy if you were wondering.) A low bass rumbles beneath layers of guitars and vocals soaking in a bubbly cauldron of reverb. Perfect for hanging on a stoop or looking at your stoned friend from across the campfire. Nearly four decades after the summer of love, these neo-psych rockers provide vibes sure to have mom worried about the smell coming from the garage. "Why are your eyes so red?"
Spiritual Buzz will be cruising across the country in the coming months playing open-mics, bars and public spaces. Perhaps they will land in your favorite local haunt, providing much needed good energies throughout America's wastelands during a tumultuous election year.
We’ll have the album on CD/Digital starting sometime next week available on our store:
