i’m making an effort not to disappear from this blog completely for months at a time again without notice, haha. i haven’t seen the most recent episodes (i missed the last two, i think) but as soon as i get caught up, i’ll be back!

in the meantime, like for a short starter. :)

whoops, sorry for my inactivity! i’ve been having way too much fun on Jace, & i haven’t seen the new episode yet, so i haven’t had much to contribute. i’ll be back this weekend, for sure :)

‘’Dead. Yeah, I know.’’ Maybe he shouldn’t have finished Scott’s sentence like that. He keeps his gaze on the younger wolf. Too many years have passed for them that at this point Scott should know to not be nervous around Derek. Or maybe that was just his overall reaction to Derek. Who knew. ‘’Chuck Palahniuk but you didn’t come all the way over here to see what I’m reading. You can breathe easily now knowing I’m not. How are you doing?’’

Scott flinched at Derek’s blunt fill in the blank, but nodded. “I -- yeah. Dead.” The word was bitter on his tongue, and images of the pack members he’d lost flashed in his head. “I came here to see you. It doesn’t really matter what we talk about.” Scott shrugged, unashamed of his honesty. “I’m -- okay, I guess. There’s some stuff I should tell you about, I guess, but I’d rather not right now. Can we just -- can I just --” He didn’t know what to say, or how to finish the sentence. Scott wasn’t entirely sure what he needed from the older man, or what he was expecting, so he just trailed off.

“Yeah.” His response came out much quieter than expected — but that’s probably just because he felt like shit. He didn’t want to hurt Scott (and oh man, can he tell that he hurt Scott), but this whole situation was so confusing and terrible and ugh, his Parabatai deserved better.

Unable to stand the guilt anymore, Danny finally decided to confide in his best friend once they had arrived back at the Institute. Instead of heading over to the offices, he grabbed Scott’s wrists and pulled him in the direction of their rooms. “Come with me.”

The Institute was mostly empty when they arrived, with most Shadowhunters out on missions or already in their own rooms for the night. The deserted feeling fit well with Scott’s mood, and he was ready to go curl up in his bed and figure out how he was going to pretend tonight had never happened when he and Danny got up in the morning. He didn’t have a chance, though -- the next thing he knew, Danny had seized his wrists and was dragging him down the hallway to their bedrooms. 

“What are you DOING?” Scott asked, simultaneously annoyed and bewildered. Hadn’t Danny just shut him out, shut him up? And now he wanted to talk? What the hell!

             “promise?” liam looked up, knowing that scott couldn’t promise him anything other than his best efforts. “i just - i don’t know what i would do without my best friend.”

Scott had learned his lesson about making promises he wasn’t sure he could keep after Hayden’s death and Liam’s subsequent defection, so he just smiled grimly and said, “I will do everything I can to help him.” That was a promise he could - and would - keep, no matter what it took. With gentle fingers under Liam’s chin, Scott guided his eyes up to meet his own. “I felt the same way with the nogitsune, and it worked out. All we can do is try to make this happen the same way.”

Scott McCall revealed himself to his classmates, with the full knowledge of all the consequences that can come from that, in order to keep them safe ( AND THEY LISTENED. WITHOUT HESITATION. THEY DID WHAT HE TOLD THEM TO DO).

okay, now i’ve seen the episode -- and just, wtf. seriously? 

MASON? SERIOUSLY?

whatever, writers. & was it just me, or were those flashbacks colossally boring? as nice as it was to see crystal, i just DID NOT care. at all. also, that french accent --?? -___-

but the whole school knows scott’s a werewolf now, so, that could go interesting places! plus, he was heroic & awesome, as usual. :) my baby’s the best baby. but where was the rest of the pack? did we just let kira go off on her own while she’s barely in control of herself? and stiles just -- helped liam & went home? uh? hello? and wtf is theo up to? a threesome with tracy & the electricity chimera whose name i never remember? 

sigh. i think i’m about over this show, y’all.

Scott glanced up at Jackson, startled by the abrupt declaration. “I know that,” he said slowly, unsure of the direction this conversation would take. “But why did you feel like you needed to remind me?”

      an overwhelming feeling of…something, he’s not sure what it was but it felt warm.       like for the first time in the last few months he’s actually felt safe. he shrugged, he       has never thought about another way, he just knows that this works. the beating,        drugs and, pushing people away and not letting them in. so many other things that       his mind isn’t letting him access right now. he didn’t want to scare scott, that’s the       last thing he wants, but he doesn’t know how to stop it. he doesn’t know how to        let himself feel any other way. stiles looked at him, putting his hand on the wrist of       the alpha and he took a deep breath. “i’m sorry.” he whispered, he’s not even sure       what he’s exactly sorry for, for everything. for hurting himself, for being the reason       hundreds of people are dead including the other’s first love. for being so distant, for       not being himself. he doesn’t know, he just knows that he’s sorry and for the first        time since being himself he actually feels something other than physical pain. he       starts to feel his eyes fill with tears, he hasn’t cried in so long, they just start to fall       fast and hard. he tries to hide his face but there’s really no where to hide so he just       closes his eyes, whispering something under his breath, he’s not even sure what he’s       saying.

Scott opened his mouth to tell Stiles that an apology was never what he was after -- but he closed it again almost immediately with a quick, aborted shake of the head. If ‘sorry’ was all Stiles could give, then Scott would take it, and hope that it meant something would change. It was a slim chance, the door Stiles had slammed in his face opening a crack -- and Scott would take it. 

He wasn’t prepared for the tears. They tracked down Stiles’ cheeks, silent and glistening, showing the pain that the boy was in and managed to hide -- even from himself. Naturally, he wouldn’t just let Scott see him suffer, so Stiles attempted to mask his tears, hide his face -- and something in Scott’s chest cracked, and he found himself reaching for Stiles, a hesitant stretch of his arms.

“Come here,” Scott pleaded, the words nothing more than a hoarse strain of the vocal cords.

Green eyes fell shut once more, comfortable with the peaceful darkness and the warmth of the young alpha embracing his body. One strong hand settled over his chest and forced him to wake up from his lethargy once more, taking in the brown, worried yet gentle hues of the younger male. “I’m aware of that. But it’s not like you can do anything RIGHT NOW.” he pointed out weakly, fighting for his eyes to not close again “If you don’t let yourself enjoy the peaceful moments, then you won’t be able to face the bad ones.” a small smile drew over his feral features after Scott’s advise, right before he shook his head quietly “I don’t need to sleep.”

Watching Derek fight sleep, strangely, was more relaxing than his actual words.The older man was hardly the type of person to rest when doom was impeding -- he was a lot like Scott, in that respect. If he was calm enough to sleep, Scott could almost relax. Almost. 

“I could be out there looking for the Beast,” Scott pointed out, though inwardly, he admitted that Derek was right. There was no point in searching out the monster while it remained in human form, and what would Scott do if he found it? Hope that he managed to get a lucky strike in before it killed him? Sighing, he surrendered with, “Damn it, when did you turn into the calm one?” 

The smile, though, however small, melted whatever irritation had flared in Scott’s gut. “Now you’re just being stubborn,” he observed, snuggling closer to Derek’s side to rest his head there. “Just go to sleep and leave me alone, geeze.”
