Does anyone have proof that the SU fandom is really attacking Jinkx Monsoon?
So I found a post on the SU subreddit saying that while there are new articles about a controversy in the fandom because Jinkx Monsoon,who is non binary is playing Emerald,the poster searched and found literally no one being negative or disrespectful to Monsoon.this got me interested so I decided to search stuff myself
First I searched recent results to Jinkx Monsoon on both Tumblr and Twitter,including notes and responses,and I found nothing close to disrespectful,everything related to SU was excitement on having Jinkx or just a nb/drag-queen in general playing a gem,people complaining about others complaining about Jinkx playing Emerald (Even tough I found none including on the notes of these posts),someone who was not sure if they were non-binary or a drag queen (which is more of a mistake than actual bigotry),and people who said they didnt like SU but they are glad Jinkx is on it. I found more negativity directed to SU and it´s fandom that I found directed to Monsoon.
After that,I noticed some were saying that apparently people were assuming that Jinkx was a cis male,so I searched their birth name Jerick Hoffer,I found literally nothing about su on the first of the most recent pages so I just moved on.
Then I searched Emerald su,and the only thing I found were fanart,people excited for having their birthstone as a gem,jokes about OCs named emerald being outdated,saying she is a vampire cause she has fangs,shipping her with Lars,and theories about her being Centipeddle or the whole scene being a dream and she being a a mix of eyeball and malachite (?). Everything related to Jinkx voicing her was incredibly positive,and the closest to negative thing I found was about her design and that had nothing to do with the voice acting.
After that,I got tired of searching so if anyone wants to see that for themselves or find something to prove me wrong,be my guests.
But anyway,this entire situation kinda of annoys me,cause even tough this fandom has done some terrible things before,and while there is probably at least one Jinkx hater on it,it feels like the journalists and the people making those callout posts were like ´´I don´t fell like making research but this fandom is terrible,so they probably did something terrible like that´´. I hate that this fandom has such a bad reputation that we are judged before we even make anything wrong,and people just assume we did it anyway.
TLDR: There are articles and post claiming the SU fandom has been attacking NB singer Jinkx Monsoon,but I searched Tumblr and twitter,and found no proof of those claims.
I went looking too because most of the posts I found were people saying these negative posts existed, and I found out they do exist, just not so much on tumblr. It's all on Instagram (search the Jinkx tag) and SU Facebook groups.
So I don’t want to get too excited until we get an official confirmation from Jinkx, but that has to be them in the Steven Universe sneak peak leak! Perfection.
Idk why but I love that katya backed jinkx kickstarter ❤️❤️❤️also jinkx is so close to reaching their goal 🙌🙌🙌
