PERSONAL DEV BLOG  | GAME SITE 

Little Greyton! Oh man, there was so much to learn from in this project. Not just about timekeeping, rushed assets and how to carry a team of six on four shoulders at any one point in time, but also about how hindsight changes your whole perspective on a project. 

We did, eh, not bad for a team of nearly 20-something year-olds who were putting something together based on a GDD that was maybe a third complete, maybe. 

But! We got a product out! It kind of works! It has assets and not just a whole bunch of grey squares! 

So like a solid 6/10 by grading standards...?

A throwback to that time I made a table-top game in under 48 hours!

I really hope I can get to do GGJ 2019 because I missed the last couple of years due to, like, finishing my degree or whatever.

As you can see, I couldn’t escape without doing a whole bunch of iterations, but hey, when you put my initials just so it makes a pencil, and I really just can’t let that go!

Though the actual .exe file has been lost somewhere in the cloud, this is the process video of the Game I made with my team in my final year of University.

It was so full of challenges and process that I was grateful to have the time to pick apart and tackle in my own time, even if ‘my own time’ was condensed into a single semester. 

I want to revisit Twill one day, break it apart and rebuilt it as something that people can actually play, enjoy and talk about. Something smoother, something that I get to have more time to polish and work on. 

I don’t know when that will be, but I really hope it comes soon.

And by emergency, I mean that I realised too late that I hadn’t paid for my council tax yet and I am a dumb as a -1 int sack of rocks; on top of that, my wisdom teeth have decided to start impacting but for realsies this time, and I’ll have to be paying out for that as well!

Please, by all means, if you are able to commission someone in more dire need than me, do! I can ask my parents for some help, but I really hate doing so as they’re in a bind as of this month too. 

So! I need to do some comms so that i can at least pay council tax this month, groceries would be a nice bonus too!
