The last few days have been Lysandre art hours. So here's my interpretation of him in XY and in Z-A. I was aiming to make him look more 30~40 ish and to try and get his vibes right (dominating and commanding vs quiet, reserved but still innately elegant)
It's also my headcanon that he's 6'7 in XY and 7' in Z-A, so the art is not spliced to scale here, I did the collaging on my phone so.
For XY Lysandre I was always mildly bothered by how skinny he looked in the official art and also how his clothing either made no sense or looked incredibly sloppy, so I tried to give it a bit more of a sensible construction and made him more well built. That's a well-fed man he's not going out and about with twigs for arms or legs, c'mon.
I also experimented with texturing on L in particular, as well as making him more tan but with a slight pallor. And of course. His gelatinous booger friend.

- Lysandre operated a youth shelter under his philanthropic organization Fleurdelis Foundations. That's how he was able to help a bunch of homeless youths, including both Corbeau and Philippe. He later singled out Corbeau to personally raise due to his potential acumen. Corbeau was 12 in the shelter, but he was only there for less than a year before he was moved into Lysandre's mansion.
- Teaching Corbeau to dress well had to start from the basics, like teaching him how to keep his clothing clean and tidy, and how to put together basic outfits. Hence the white shirt. Lysandre also discovered he needed glasses, and black wireframes were as basic and classy as it gets. Corbeau is getting serious about the opportunity for private education, because he knows it's his ticket to joining the society that forgot about him at his most destitute. He also put on some needed weight, because of how zealous Lysandre was about imparting a strong appetite. Corbeau is 4'8.
- Corbeau was a little bit late on getting his growth spurt, getting it at 15 and only fully tapering off around 17, picking up a total of 7 inches to reach 5'3. For his 16th birthday, Lysandre gifted him that hooded jacket that was his own custom design - made bespoke for Corbeau. It was around this time Lysandre also quietly put in the paperwork to adopt Corbeau because he'd gotten fond of the boy.
- He would have been content providing for Corbeau until he might someday inherit his businesses because he's notoriously insistent on giving and giving, but Corbeau doesn't take advantage of Lysandre's kindness - and is also ambitious, wanting to strike out on his own and carve his own life. Corbeau had to sit Lysandre down when he was almost 18, and negotiate for some venture capital to start his own business, and to move out to learn real independence. Lysandre pushed back a fair bit, because he's a protective lion dad, but ultimately gave in. Sometime in the year Corbeau turned 18, he set out on his own, although Lysandre insisted that he could always come home if he wanted or needed it.
- Sadly, a year later, Lysandre had his major XY crashout and was soon presumed dead. Due to his crime against humanity, most of his assets, wealth, businesses and even his estate was confiscated by the government for investigations. Corbeau didn't find out about the Geosenge Crisis until the Holo Caster mass telecast throughout Kalos. However, it was fortunate that Corbeau had his own residence now, and his business was really taking off - enough so that the revenue afforded him the chance to start a secondary venture.
- By the age of 22, he was operating several businesses with multiple branches throughout Lumiose. Of course, Philippe and his gang considered this "encroaching on their turf", and tried to go after him. After multiple failed attempts and an increasingly frustrated Corbeau, he eventually up and defeated Philippe himself with his (at the time) Rosellia. Witnessing Corbeau's talents in both mind and battle, Philippe sheepishly convinces Corbeau to take over the gang. He moved the gang out of their "base of operations", or an unoccupied rental unit they were squatting in, into a proper building and reorganized it into what would become the Rust Syndicate.
- In the next two years, he would develop notoriety as a shrewdly cunning and rather intimidating "organized crime ring's kingpin" ... which was moreso a PR move on his part to attain the social power needed to commit community service without being questioned or resisted. He keeps up the reputation he built as a mask, but of course, over time it slightly integrates into his real personality, becoming more assertive. There was no real crimes committed, although the grunts did cause petty trouble sometimes due to their gangster histories. The darkest it ever gets with the Rust Syndicate is really the "loansharking", which toed the legality line. Rumors about indefinite exploited labor were in reality, loan defaulters who also were lazy about repaying their debt through community service resulting in additional tasks assigned until they wisened up and did it well. At 24, he's already among the most wealthy in Lumiose - with a net worth in the hundreds of millions, if not more.

I have this hc that the Pearl Clan gave him the name Nobori when he became Sneasler's warden because "Ingo" was too foreign for many to pronounce, and that they believed the name they bestowed on him was a sign of fully accepting him into their community. So he is "Warden Nobori", the one who lives in the mountains, scaling them with Sneasler.
Well, you're not wrong, it's kind of easy in theory to transliterate. My personal thought process was that English speakers pronounce it "Ing-go", while if you transliterated very directly to Japanese, it would be "i-n-go" (インゴ) which actually sounds quite different, and the "ing" sound isn't natively available in Japanese. Hence my idea that the Hisuians just went. 'Hm. If you're going to be a warden, you might as well get a suitable name with it, plus, you've picked up a decent amount of our language anyway so just consider yourself one of us now, not just some random outsider trying to pull weight to repay shelter'
So it's both a 'we accept you and bestow this name on you' and a 'it's like having a job name'. He can and does use 'Ingo' at his own discretion with whoever can pronounce it, like Prof. Laventon, who I imagine he speaks English with.
