My favorite least favorite chapter 5 weird route detail is how at the start you have to force Kris out of bed because they are trying to keep us away from Noelle. I can only imagine how they feel going thru the weird route, having to do all of this horrible shit to Noelle😭✌️

Their conversation at the beach is so interesting. It’s like Noelle has finally realized that something is different about Kris and their word; Noelle finally figured out that she can do anything if Kris tells her to. Before going to the beach, Kris and Susie can roam around the festival and Susie will comment about various things that Noelle and her did while Kris was asleep.

For me, particularly what stands out is how Susie mentions Noelle rested her head on Susie’s shoulder the entire ferris wheel ride, and held her hand in the bowl (of whatever i forgot) and it just is so heartbreaking because Noelle clearly only has the courage to act this way towards Susie because she knows it doesn’t matter anymore; If everything goes how she wants it at the beach, there won’t be a tomorrow for her. Another thing is how Noelle attempted to give Susie hundreds of dollars- She wanted to share with Susie what she could before she was gone.

It’s also interesting to think about Noelle’s possible views on Kris’s outlook on everything. Like, what does Noelle think Kris thinks?

My theory is that in the weird route, Noelle knows the player and Kris are separate during chapter 5, and that’s why she grabs us by our hands and pulls us into the water backwards. If we, the player, don’t click proceed, she says it for us and we continue walking. Noelle knows she’s not strong enough to carry this out on her own, which is why she needs the player to help her with her plans; causing Kris to get roped in with everything and die along with Noelle.

Toriel is such an interesting character especially when you think about how Deltarune is now canon to Undertale as of chap5 because of the drawing Susie makes for Sans being in Undertale. It leads me to wonder if Deltarune is a prequel to Undertale & will end with the war that we’re told about in the beginning of Undertale. Going back to Toriel, she obviously doesn’t have possession of Kris or Asriel in Undertale; in fact Asriel in Undertale is Flowey as we know and I feel like this could line up with Deltarune Asriel’s timeline somehow (???) To be honest that’s the only thing that would disprove my yap

I feel like Undertale and Deltarune’s connection is gonna end up being more of a something-burger than people think, my theory is Toby isn’t planning on keeping them completely separate because I feel like also why would characters be reused instead of replaced or redesigned? Toriel, Alphys, Sans, Undyne just to name a few off the top of my head all appear in both Undertale and Deltarune. I just feel like generally unless the games are connected to each other you usually don’t reuse characters and then make the line between the games’ lores really foggy unless you have plans to clear it up in the future

The way he's holding them here makes me feel conflicted. Like, this scene is terrifying and I can't imagine what's it like to be on a receiving end of it but... just look at it.

- he's holding Zooble in a way so that their parts don't fall out

- he's not squeezing Gangle so that her fragile ribbons don't get tangled

- he's not putting too much pressure on Ragatha so that she doesn't get ripped apart

- he's only holding Pomni and Jax firmly because their bodies are solid and rubbery

And this scene is right after the torture too. You would think he would be more violent, but no. He wanted to hurt them, not break them.

Caine wanted them to listen. And because they never did, he made them feel what he felt when they poked at his biggest fears and insecurities.

I guess what I meant to say is - even when at his worst, there was still something considerate in him. Something resembling the real him and not the angry monster he'd become.
