Evillustrator: The Fight Scene
Something that I noticed that I wanted to point out about this scene in Chloe’s apartment:
Nathaniel’s behavior when he was attacking Chloe versus Ladybug and Chat Noir.
When he was fighting with the heroes, he talked very little and drew items that would cause a lot of damage, like boxing gloves and circular saws.
He was primarily focused on protecting himself and hurting Ladybug and Chat.
But when he was attacking Chloe?
A good chunk of what he was doing was talking, he erased the door instead of breaking it.
He was virtually right behind her when she ran, but he still asked where she was in a menacing tone of voice, and he didn’t even chase her, he just walked like a limp noodle.
Even when she wasn’t actually in the closet, he still chose to erase some items of value because he knows she treasures them.
And he drew very strange things that people wouldn’t typically use to attack someone with, like a giant heel.
Evidence shows he wasn’t so much trying to hurt her physically, like with Ladybug or Chat or in comparison to the other villains who tried to hurt her. It appears he was trying to do more damage psychologically, trying to make it seem as though she were living a nightmare.
He said she was going to get a lesson she’ll get never forget, and that she likes to trample on other people but she doesn’t like it when others trample on her.
I have a theory that Nathaniel was trying to recreate the feeling Chloe gave him when she exposed him in class, but worse. Nathaniel is a very shy and anxious person and I imagine he felt absolutely horrible when that happened like he’s in an internal state of panic that’s destroying his mind.
Also in comparison to the other villains when it comes to actually being a villain, Nathaniel clearly had a very different approach (you know, since he’s an imaginative tomato with no muscles whatsoever). Maybe this is a sign he’s more clever than the show made him out to be?
Or at least more mentally unstable.
