( vent/update on american economy and related financial stress. tldr i may not be writing again as soon as i thought i would be unfortunately as i really need to focus on other things. )

so my partner got fired today (due to “overstaffing” at their place of work, which is bullshit. companies just don’t want to pay their employees.) next month will be the second month in a row that our bills add up to almost $1k exactly. because of that + us both being disabled & me still being denied disability assistance after a continued 8 years of applying & appealing & going to court hearings, i really need to focus on making new merchandise for my store since it’s my only form of income and we only have under $3k in total to our name which as you can imagine, only guarantees us security until september of this year.

I think zim would probably shoot gir with like a real bullet and gunpowder gun whenever gir misbehaves like you’d shoot a cat with water but its an honest to god handgun and he gets upset and squeals but doesn’t actually do anything cause he’s a fuckin robot and the bullets just ricochet off his godless cold metal shell body.

( i keep doing only like 10% of what i want to do here every day but im bringing back the oldie but goodie headcanon that if anyone asks zim what his name is short for he panics and says 'zimbabwe' and it funnily works in his favour because everyone assumes he's a second generation immigrant and that his parents named him after their home country and he's just 'weird' because of cultural differences. dib vc: he keeps saying shit like "the ways of my people" dont you get it!!! hes not from here!!! someone: dib you can't bully someone just because they don't have the same heritage as you, what the hell? what's wrong with you? stop being xenophobic, man. saying he's not from here is so mean and offensive. )

He can feel his eye twitching. "Do NOT call me that!" is somehow all he can manage in response. He's not sure if this thing knows what it's saying, or just talks to talk. Likely the latter, but who in their right mind would program that? It doesn't look at all like it's capable of thought, or... anything, really. Yeah, he really should scrap it. Oh. Well there's that, then. Where had it even come from? This thing had to be a Devil Fruit, right? Gold eyes trace the arc of the drifting hat. He knows Luffy's not the sort to be taken out even by something this absurd, but some poor sod somewhere had clearly been deleted from existence. Oh well, not his problem. Maybe he could tolerate the incessant babble for a little while longer. Maybe.

A massive metal hand closes around the little creature as Kid raises it toward him to get a closer look. "That's quite the weapon you've got. I've got to assume it's replaced your brain. Nothing about you makes any goddamn sense, but I should be used to that by now..." He's probably going to regret his entire life soon. "Fine. I'll let you stay here for now. "okeeeyyyyy i won't!" gir agreed with a little nod, completely unfazed by the human's announace- which truth be told, he didn't even register. it cleared some stuff up for him too, phew! now zim could go back to being his dad. or the tallests? yeah, he still wasn't really sure, but at least he had it narrowed back down to two!

he also wasn't the slightest bit offended when his new not-dad implied that the weapon had replaced his brain, because he was probably right! gir wasn't even sure if he had a brain, at least not in the traditional sense! if he had a brain in that head of his, how would he be able to fit all of that other stuff? his 'brain' was probably just one of those chip thingies zim talked about. the kind he wasn't allowed to eat, much to his dismay. "i dont want the boat to sink cuz then all the pirates would have to live underwaters with the mermaids and they don't like sharing!" he nodded 'wisely', like he knew what he was talking about- which he absolutely did not at all. "I'M GIR where the target at???" he looked around, walking in a circle like a dog chasing it's own tail. he didn't see any targets- not the bullseye ones OR the store.

"You have NO BUSINESS being here, you- eep-" In an instan Zim went from ready to attack to hastily retreating, scrambling to secure himself beside the sofa and peeking around it like a soldier trying to decide when it was safe to return from the trench. Sharp fingers gripped the arm like a cat sinking its claws into the rug to avoid being picked up.

"KEEP THAT DISGUSTING BRAINWASHING PROPAGANDA AWAY FROM ME!!!" He screamed, following up with an angry warning hiss. Evidently, Zim was not as keen on watching movies as Poochie. How stupid did she think he was? Those movies were property of the FBI, he'd seen their warning himself on that tape GIR kept renting- that horrific brainwashing tape that had conditioned his evil robot minion treacherous shouting 'hooray for earth!' each time it ended! Besides-

gir opened his mouth up as wide as he could, absolutely thrilled. it was sort of unclear whether he was smiling or about to start shouting, but it was probably both. he was definitely smiling, he just hadn't decided whether or not he was going to start screaming just yet. "I KNOWWW THIS ONEEEEEE" yep, there he goes yelling. gir happily accepted both the joycons and pro controller and promptly started up a game where he played three different colours of kirby at the same time. the controller was in his hands, and each of his little feet controlled a single joycon. he mashed at the joycons with his feet (please don't break them, gir!!!). the two 'foot' kirbies jumped around sporadically like round little fleas as he ran around with the controller and took turns smacking them off of the side of the map with the paper fan item.

"WEEEEEHEEEEHEEEEEEEE BYE KIRBY!!!!!" after his 'practice' match ended, he held the joycons and controllers back to agni. "YOU WANNA PLAY WITH ME????" who needs cpu players when gir can just be his OWN cpu player??? It would still be fun with more than just himself, though. they can take turns beating up a foot kirby until they get bored!

( no.... thank YOU anon... that means a lot to me genuinely. zim is a character who i feel is Very Easy to mess up/flanderize and since i took a big ol like, man... 7 year break from my green guys im very insecure that i haven't been able to write them as well as i did before. especially zim......
