NINETEEN limit #but i don't think it sounds dissonant at all #maybe because the crunchy notes don't happen regularly #the gist behind this one is that i don't mix third types #as in. types of thirds #so i have these huge chords but they're all like. just stacked fifths with some thirds snuck in #so for example we have our major seven chord which is just 1 + 5/4. and then repeated at the fifth (3/2)#and then i just stack and stack #and i do it for all types of intervening values

taking a break from my usual microtonal stuff to try out Different microtonal stuff, with a new scale i invented just for chords

#i'm a chord denialist in general so this is a step in the opposite direction for me but i quite like it #to the point where i want to share even though this is just me fiddling around #i used reaper and then the surge synth vst #scale repeats at the 5th and includes just a fuckton of thirds for maximum chord variety #it's as just-intuned as i know how to get it #i mean sans the octave thing bc there are no perfect octaves lol

this isn't near finished, and i have no reason to be proud of it, but I figured I might as well post it here, on this blog I use once a year, as this is a rewrite of my "giant" Morenatsu fanfic that I also posted here.

this is a story about boys who summon ghosts. ironically red weaver isn't among them, nor is he one of the ghosts summoned. except there is a ghost named red weaver but it's not the same guy. every single character has some sort of psychosis, because i don't know how to write them otherwise. they also have very very very particular names. because i don't know how to write them otherwise. most of the characters are native (belonging to a fictional agricultural people in the rocky mountains, called shorok), and i tried and am still trying to write them in an authentic way, i am white and inevitably got some stuff wrong. if you have any comments about that feel free to tell me. themes include love, loneliness, responsibility, masculinity, adulthood, choice, and fate.

another school project, from one semester ago, but made with Ableton free trial because of Coronavirus. (I have no fancy software for doing cool things anymore and it’s very sad) This one I guess is also made in a specific genre, but that genre is ‘Boss Fight.’ Who are you fighting? The Snake from the Jungle Book. Obviously. The end is weird because, being Boss Fight Music, it’s supposed to loop to the beginning, so it has the pickups to do so. Sorry for that. This one is entirely my creation; the only thing I didn’t make were the software instruments and the software.
