You’ll get more mileage out of semiotic analysis, not trying to think about the chemical composition of the SPOILERS’ foodstuff.
trying to parse out the details of the universe through the reveal that ASYNC is an XYZ company, and thus, trying to work backwards from that technologically, is the incorrect inference to be making. you need to think in dream logic! it's not a puzzle! at least not in that sense. things have themes for reasons
