"OMG YOU'RE DRIZZT DO'URDEN!!"
The children will never know How the ocean used to flow They'll never miss the whales They'll never believe the tales But I will remember, I will tell Of all that lived and their great farewell
My newest girl Amira, a gentle knight with the best intentions and the skills to back them up.
Self indulgent piece featuring my pathfinder 2e gang, Marie, Celia, Cainan, and my Reverence.
They're a little broken, but they work together well. The vampires don't stand a chance.
People used to comment on web comics.
People used to comment on fanfiction.
People used to comment on fanart.
People used to comment on OCs.
I hate "content" culture.
I hate "consuming content" and scrolling immediately to the next thing.
People used to be excited about the art that other people created.
People used to want to share that excitement with creators.
I hate this future.
Once someone tagged art that I made with "woah" and I think about it at least once a week. Someone else said "oh neat" once. Someone else WROTE A WHOLE DAMN POEM IN THE COMMENTS. Anyways even just one word can change how someone sees their art. You don't even have to think about it too hard. You could put a keyboard smash and I'd probably cry from joy.
I'm also trying hard to interact more, I understand that it's hard to break away from opening your phone and being in Content Consumption Mode.
I honestly hadn't stopped to think about this until I saw this post... I used to think people would get annoyed if they were notified everytime someone posted a comment on their art. I never thought about it being like fanfiction and that they might appreciate comments. Frick, that means I'm part of the problem on here. Thats gotta change.
Every tag, every comment, every reblog with some kind of reaction/opinion or even just one word. All of these things are precious to creators!
I spent countless hours reading and rereading tags full of love people left under my art. All the people i could gift a laugh to or even inspire with something I made mean more to me then you could ever know.
It's what makes me proud of my art!
And to think that you could have enjoyed my art in silence and I would have never known.
A very special shout out to the person who tagged "these mcgriddles make me want to shit so bad" on fanart in 2013 I think about you once a day
My favourite guys but they’re small 🤏
MIND HONSE..........
does anyone else like to shame the invasive species in their area, or
If you're using gen AI because "you want to make art but don't know how/can't learn/it's easier/whatever"
You don't want to make art.
You want someone to make art for you, but you don't want to pay or exchange anything of equal value for it, and also you want it right now, in whatever style you fancy that moment, and in whatever quantity you want. You're greedy and entitled and it is just that simple. You don't want to make anything.
New DnD character!
Her name is Vidalia, she's a botanist (unsure of class yet) that dabbles with inventing. She carries the pod terrarium carrying a seed her great-grandmother spent her life trying to grow and cultivate. Her grandmother died, but left the seed in her care. Vidalia got it to sprout after great effort and research. It requires specific care and "feeding" times, which is why she takes it with her everywhere. The pod terrarium even has a mechanical timer that goes off when she needs to water/check it. She's joined the ship to explore and hopefully find the plant's origin at the same time.
She has a prosthetic arm to replace the one she lost dealing with epecially venomous (yes venomous, not toxic or poisonous) plant specimens.
short comic depicting the birth of Halo, my precious, idiot babyboy...... he's gonna commit such atrocities! 🥹
Halo is my character in @allthatyouknow, our TTRPG podcast! give us a listen for deep delves into the unknown, dog-to-demon life cycles, and......... teeth? who knows! I sure don't!
Reading The Hobbit to my daughter as she tries to get to sleep with a fever. She’s not yet 4 but insisted and is getting a lot out of it.
Her chipping in occasionally from the cosy tent that she sleeps in with ‘uh oh, Bilbo will not like the scratches on his green door!’ or ‘I would also like to ride a fat pony on a adventure’ or ‘I’m not scared of the goblins because I’m very brave, but let’s just not read that bit, ok?’
A thoroughly nice way to re-read this book.

I love personalization. I love stickers on water bottles and on laptops. I love shitty marker drawing on the toes of converse. I love hand embroidered doodles on jeans. I love posters on walls. I love knick knacks on shelves. I love jewelry with goofy charms. I love when people take things and make them theirs.
I saw someone on the train recently with one of my stickers on their phone and it delighted me. Would have been much too weird to say anything, so hello if you read this!

Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.
