In mokumokuren artwork it's really common for Hikaru to be positioned behind Yoshiki 👀

I think it's great visual storytelling. At first it creates a distance between the character and the viewer, giving the character the mysterious aura it deserves... like a living shadow

Also gives the feeling that Yoshiki has blind faith in him. Full trust on this creature he just recently met

Lastly the concept of Hikaru being the support he needs, someone he can lean on, watch his back, protect him

I finished watching the first half of the anime 86 and it's amazing. Solid 11/10. I regret not watching it sooner because it's been hibernating on my watch list for so long. If Netflix didn't tag as it Leaving Soon I probably wouldn't have started it 😭

The actual story and characters were already good by itself but it's elevated by everything else. The animation, music, directing, imagery, editing, voice acting, etc. Absolutely everything else.

I hope the second part doesn't disappoint because thr first half is such a high bar.
