The Great Annual Halloween Playlist 2021+Closing Down

For anyone interested, yes, I’m shuttering this Tumblr within 3 months. See below the cut if you want to know more. But with no further ado: here’s my traditional Youtube Halloween Playlist to get you in the mood!

Now, as to my plans:

For years now, I’ve barely used this tumblr, so it’s not providing much in the way of personal or professional enrichment. Besides, there’s a few things here I’m not proud of, and the stuff I am proud of has been copied elsewhere. I’ve decided to shutter it sometime between December and January, once I can transfer anything interesting out of here. 

If you’re interested in following me, I’m on letterboxd and twitter as well. I know this is reaching like, 10 people tops, but blame my fuzzy nostalgia for this site. Enjoy the playlist in the meantime!

PPS: If anyone reading this knows how to easily download a Youtube playlist of this size, I’d be super grateful! I’ve put enough work into this bastard that I want to have a backup for myself.

The Great Halloween Playlist 2019!

I do one thing on Tumblr per year, and it’s this: the playlist is back and updated once again: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD2A913452CFB5F5E

We’re now up to 231 movie clips, songs, game excerpts, shorts, commercials, and more! It’s a slimmer update than usual, but I was also able to add back in some stuff that left Youtube in years past. And hey, there’s some good stuff in the new batch!

(I know it’s late, too, but maybe this can be a shot in the arm for the final stretch. Or to keep the spirit alive through November!)

There’s also a number of full-length movies and docs, an interactive cartoon, an a 10-hour ambiance from the Haunted Mansion. This year’s new highlight might be a 45-minute recording of the Freddy Krueger hotline. It’s the guaranteed perfect spooky picker-upper. Enjoy!

Okay so there’s a lot going in my life and Tumblr doesn’t pull me like it used to, but out of curiosity I checked it out the other day and there were a surprisingly high number of very nice comments and follows in my notifications. I’m not feeling spectacular, so it was a little heartwarming. I felt a little bad for not doing my part here to spread the Halloween mood.

I’m not sure how often I’ll be back, but I thought I should at least share the latest update of my Halloween Playlist with you all. You’ve now got 203 movie clips, songs, game excerpts, shorts, commercials, and more! (Why 203? Because that's where I wanted to stop!)

The original, iconic drawing of the Flatwoods Monster was recently found by the Braxton County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. A photo of two of the witnesses posing with this picture appeared in newspapers shortly after the incident in 1952.

The 31 Days of Halloween Days 11-15: The Halloween Mood Table!

After much delay, here are the pics of this year’s mood table! (Don’t worry, it’s been up for more than 20 days.) 

There’s actually not too much new stuff this year, but this is such a source of pride, I have to share it again! Up top is my hand-painted Prisoner of Castel-Mare, The Alien, and some Haunted Mansion tombstones. 

One of the new things is this adorable bony little frog! And while spooky vinyl is a staple of my mood table, the AMAZING Creepshow release from Waxwork is a new member of the family. 

As always, there’s plenty of candy for any visitors, and I think that the fellow smiling up at you looks better than any year past. Might be the new rubber spiders I picked up. 

Plenty of movies new and old to enjoy! I’ve watched quite a few now, which I hope to review later this season, including The Howling and the first season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. Spoiler- I loved it all! 

Another bony friend, this one a little angrier. What’s she so upset about? She gets to hang out with Godzilla!

The full effect- I’m not sure the white lights are going to return next year, but otherwise, a wonderful mood table in my eyes!

The 31 Days of Halloween Days 6-10: The Great Halloween Youtube Playlist!

It also has a few feature length videos, including the last screen appearance of Boris Karloff's Frankenstein Monster, three full movies, the making of Alien, and a surprisingly charming Paul Lynde Halloween special from 1976! (You get to see KISS lip-synching at their prime, plus some comedy heavyweights of the 70s.)

The 31 Days of Halloween Days 4-5: Decorating!

My masterpiece is complete! 

This is the lone herald of Halloween in my own room, but he holds down the fort well. 

Elsewhere upstairs, these cute, glitter-soaked signs mark the beginning of the deluge. 

And this gorgeous gal welcomes you to Halloween no matter where you come in, thanks to her piercing stare. 

Below, the most joyful hanging ghosts in the world join the party. Except for my perfectly creepy icy bride. She’s a bit of a downer.

This is still the most adorable thing of all time. Target was selling a great Grim Reaper and Frankenstein monster to match it, but they were sold out of both, tragically. 

This guy’s just hanging out in the living room until we get the stakes to pin him down outside and tbh he’s really overstaying his welcome. 

This was my big ticket item this year, so please. Make me fill fulfilled. Click on this to see this in action. It’s awesome.
