Dan Heng sees nothing except red from the blaring red lights of the alarm to the bleeding bodies on the floor, and the crimson stripes scattered throughout the ceiling. He shuts his eyes, controls his breathing, and regains focus on his center. A goal- he has a goal now: survive and if necessary, escape.
Opening his eyes, Dan Heng is determined as he checks the bodies for signs of life. He shakes his head finding that no one had survived. Unfortunately, the Anti-Matter Legion forces appearing do not give him time to grieve the fallen. Dan Heng grips Cloud-Piercer tightly before he leaps forward and swings his spear at the nearest foe.
Dodge. Stab. Side-Step. There!
Watching the last of his enemies disappear into nothingness, Dan Heng pulls his spear back. He pants softly and wipes the sweat dripping down his cheek. Normally, he wasn’t this out of breath after a fight, but something is very wrong here.
With every step he takes, the bracer on his wrist grows warmer to the point it became unbearingly hot.
But Dan Heng refuses to remove it from his person.
With every step he takes, the gut-wrenching feeling grows stronger- warning him to run away in the opposite direction.
But Dan Heng refuses to run away.
At the next corner, Dan Heng sees nothing but darkness.
He remembers that the alarms don’t reach this part of the ship. The sirens become distant, muted by the sound of steam hissing through broken pipes. The hairs on the back of his neck stand, beads of cold sweat forming on his skin. In total darkness, Dan Heng knows someone is here, and whoever it is…
A dot of red lights up in the darkness like a flickering candlelight. They’re dangerous, Dan Heng thinks as he slips into a defensive stance.
