Johnny Fever, or Bob Ducca?
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y’ALL (at Sullivan’s Island, SC)
This song is exactly what I need.
Because Life is Misshapen. Oh my god, is it ever. From American Elf.
Wait wait wait--does this mean Criterion is going to release Repo Man?!
As someone who just said it three times in a row, I can state that "New Yo La Tengo" makes for a pretty effective tongue twister.
YouTube being YouTube, I'm not surprised to see these comments on a Marvin Gaye video; but I am rather disturbed that Gregory Countee thinks "Let's Get It On" is an appropriate song to dedicate to the memory of murdered children.
Feeling super terrible at the doctor's office this morning; thank god for this magazine about cats (especially the Maru section).

You better believe this was the first episode I voted for.
KNIFE GRAB
REALLY ENJOYING THESE.
Waffleganger brunch til 3pm today. Sweet and savory waffle sandwhiches, and they’re giving away oatmeal, chocolate, banana cookies with every order!
Okay, I am homesick.
Stop! Stop! He’s already dead!
People React to Red Dawn Remake
"God, I wish that fictional cinematic conflict with an Asian country was a legitimate excuse to round up every Asian and put them in, like, some kind of camp or something."
God damn it, I want to dress like Pepper every day.
Astronaut Ed White performs first U.S. spacewalk
Astronaut Edward H. White II, pilot for the Gemini-Titan 4 space flight, floats in space during America’s first spacewalk. The extravehicular activity (EVA) was performed during the Gemini 4 mission on June 3, 1965. White spent 23 minutes maneuvering around his spacecraft as Jim McDivitt remained inside the spacecraft. White is attached to the spacecraft by a 25-ft. umbilical line and a 23-ft. tether line, both wrapped in gold tape to form one cord. In his right hand, White carries a Hand-Held Self Maneuvering Unit (HHSMU), which he used to help move him around the weightless environment of space. The visor of his helmet is gold plated to protect him from the unfiltered rays of the sun.
Typical notes from a “business meeting” with my record label.
And thanks, U.K. LUDLIBbers.
Last Sunday I went to the Nagoya Vegan Fest. I was super excited, even though I've been a pretty shitty vegan so far while out here (re: my oguran toast addiction and pumpkin flavored Kit Kats). I was very pleased with the seitan karaage and the vegan croquette burger, as well as the fig and kabocha bagels from Els 4 Gats (although they were definitely on the WASP-y end of the bagel spectrum, which I can live with). I was less impressed with the vanilla soy milk ice cream, although I probably shouldn't have had such high expectations.
I thought the festival would be more focused on the health aspects of veganism, so I was pleasantly surprised to see multiple animal rights booths, as well as a man in a cow costume promoting soy milk. I even bought a tote touting "No nukes and no fur forever", the most overtly political thing I have purchased since I got a "plants and animals disappear to make room for your fat ass" bumper sticker when I was 14. Disappointing ice cream aside, it was definitely a worthwhile trip.
