Another excellent scene from Les Miserables 1967 relating to the Les Mis Letters for today, this time from episode 3. I love how 67 focuses on that Fantine becomes a prostitute through legal means, and how that automatically makes her lesser and more watched in the eyes of the law. Javert is perfectly cold here, and it’s just such a good take. I really like the foreshadowing of how he will react once she actually does get in trouble. The first half of 1967 is such a wonderful adaptation (the head screenwriter died halfway through writing it, and the later episodes are…less good due to that.)

Scorpius is confused, bewildered; he’s beyond exhausted.  The dark robes he wears itches against his skin, it’s too polyester and starched for comfort, and he aches for his familiar Hogwarts robes, or his wool cardigan; he needs something soft to remind him that there’s still light.

He’s stumbling through this world, this world that comes with nothing good and everything deranged.  He feels like he can’t breathe, because Albus is dead.  Harry Potter’s dead – a scream cuts off his thoughts.  People are dying, here.

This Scorpius, Scorpius thinks while looking down at his hands, has killed people.  This Scorpius has tortured.

Sweet little awkward Albus. I was floored by Benjamin Papac's portrayal of the middle Potter kid in the San Francisco production. So lucky I got to see it live several times.
