I said at the very beginning Valko's sudden appearance was weird and rushed. We were always set for a sixth LI eventually, but how they dropped him felt like we were getting a new puzzle shoved with an old one.
Valko was growing on me, I won't lie. His Peter Paker playfulness had me intrigued.
When the livestream dropped, I was also disappointed that, once more, the main feedback had been ignored. No ways to grind diamonds, no updates outside of Valko (which I was actually excited for, because I wanted to see how it all connected), no orbit updates, and a slap sticker "it's coming" update for Sylus and Caleb.
Also...the fifteen minutes of music was weird.
This felt frantically thrown together, and I know I wasn't the only one feeling that way.
But still, I was excited. Valko would add something new into the game again, and the constant banners were causing burn out.
Then to wake up to him being fully yanked? That's wrong.
Plain and simple.
Valko has become the scapegoat for Infold dodging actual issues that they should've been addressing. Hell, this is the same company that was deleting users last year for sending hate birthday messages to the LIs, so what the hell happened?

Love and Deepspace has been a comfort for me. It got me writing again, and I've met some amazing people through this. We're all hurting. We're all trying to figure out what to do next.
I am asking for grace for fandom creators right now. As my lovely friend, Amy, reminded me, fandom is bigger than the game or show itself.
I will continue writing for LaDS, as it is still a source of comfort for me - Sylus especially. I had a couple ideas for Valko as well, and maybe they'll be fully written one day, too.

We don’t, because you’re behaving in an entitled way that shows you won’t. The amount of requests I’ve taken in good faith where the person who requested it never said a word about it is astounding. Not even a thank you.
Just quit the bullshit. You act entitled, mean, and ungrateful, and then whine and complain when writers stop posting, because you lack the self awareness to see that it’s your behavior causing that. You want endless fic but refuse to engage with the writer in any kind or respectful way. Stop it.
im waiting to see how this whole situation plays out, but tbh im not going to be satisfied with JUST bringing valko back as an LI. If the other valid concerns — poor lighting for POC players, no new ways to farm grind diamonds, slow updates to the orbits/main story, no new bond/content for sylus & caleb — are not addressed soon, then the game is a wrap for me. i was already reaching burnout with the game due to these issues, but it’s only escalated tenfold with the current situation. i have a lot of love for my mc and rafayel, but not everything good can last and I fear infold may have put the nail in the coffin.

many global players were attached to valko but apparently infold chose to cater to the cn playerbase instead. to me, it's a clear display of disregard for the non-cn players.
regardless, the cancellation hardly resolves the issues players have been raising for months! there's still no improvement to dia farming, no open fucking communication, there's still missing content for sy and caleb.
do we have a promise like "commit to no additional love interest introduced in future content plans" (quoting the official letter) or even a tentative roadmap for the missing content(bond stories, cards, etc)? no.
and finally, what really is the precedent they're setting here? if it really is possible to cancel an entire character who was this far into development, mere days before his release, who's to say that they won't be doing so with the existing 5 if they get hate on a similar scale??
and for players who were excited about Valko(including myself), this feels like they lost something without receiving any of the improvements they were asking for in return!
infold is extremely fickle, hasty, unprofessional and dare i say dramatic in handling the situation. the hate isn't new. they could have given valko a chance. there were so many players who were warming up to him. truly disappointing.
You’re 100% right about that this sets a dangerous precedent for the other LI. It’s more than possible that if people bitch enough about a LI they could pull the plug on that character too. This is so bad especially in a fandom known for fan wars between different LI mains.
don't get me wrong, i know lads has a LOT of issues we all want fixed, and we all want main story updates, but i feel like so many people weren’t considering that valko was necessary for main story progression, and by getting rid of him, EVERYTHING will have to be reworked, and main story updates will take EVEN LONGER and likely need to be redone completely to make the lore linear and make sense
and not only that, but i feel like this is SO disrespectful to all the people that worked on valko, it's CLEAR they put a lot of work into this update, making multiple memories for him, putting in all the quality time features, home features etc, and now all of that hard work will have to be scrapped because some big cn spenders didn't like him bc it was "rushed" or they wanted main story (which they're not getting??) or he looked too western or he was too tan or whatever.
