ENTRY TWO.
" The days have grown long and exhausting. There is something changing within me in preparation that I am less than fond of. What will they think of these changes? I guess my status of friendship with the eldritch will be nothing short of cemented... I can't help but wonder if she will view me the same once I return. I am now different, this journey has changed me. I am fearful that it is for the worst, that these changes have altered me permanently, that they are wrong but cannot be fixed. Hopefully that is not the case, and these changes can be used to help rather than harm and destroy. "
"You will not hear" "We... believe you won't hear us." "But... we had to... say something. At least."
"We wish you good luck on your journey. We... prey... pray?... Am I saying that right?" "I don't know, words aren't our strongest skill... We managed to learn how to speak barely a century ago." "Never the less... We hope you achieve what you set out to do... And warn you that we will affectionately attack you when you return." "Uh... hugs... he meant we'll be hugging you." *The voices murmur to each other before coming to an agreement... with hesitation. Patch sets the radio down. And steps away... all it can do is wait.* -SKIN ANON ooc; atm I couldn't think of any other way for them to really... react to Doves' announcement so... Take this as their reaction. Wanted to do something.
. . .
OOC; It's hysterical how you sent this in just as I was about to post the second journal entry LOL!!! Heh don't worry Dove will reunite soon! Huzzah! Hip hip HoorraaaaaayyyY!!!
Dove i...I'm assuming you're not there or cannot hear me, however I just needed to wish you luck.
Even if I'm speaking to nothing, an empty room, I just...
May luck follow you, Dove...

ENTRY ONE.
" It's sunrise. This journey has proven to be long and dangerous. Their presence soothes me. I'm glad they were able to awaken from whatever trance it was they were being influenced by. Seeing the recognition in their eyes gives me hope for this journey's fruitions. There's still hope for the people if I can just manage to rid them of the tyrant. There used to be lights and life in every corner once. And yet, now all it is can only be described as dim and lifeless. Soon, I hope to restore what once was familiar... and I hope to return home in one piece. They need a protector. If I am not there, who will keep them safe from horrible dangers? It was foolish to leave them. I was foolish. Please, forgive me, friends. "
Villain and violent, infant and innocent... baby, both arms cradle you now.
Alone, she stood in the room with the radio, her only point of contact for weeks now, her eyes lingering on the old device. She turned away from it, but her footsteps moving around the room were audible in between the silence.
Things could be heard being moved around, shoved into what could presumably be a backpack, and a zipper zipping up once the packing had been finished. This was it.
She slung it over her shoulders and snuck a knife into her pocket. This show was nearly over. She set a voice recorder by the radio and hit the play button before leaving the room, knife in hand.
" Friends, if you're hearing this, either I will return home soon, or I won't make it back to you. I think it's time you all discovered the truth. "
The radio seemed to connect to the loudspeaker of the facility, somehow.
" If there has been question as to where I have been, I have isolated to protect you from the beasts that haunt me and the monster I am becoming. The last thing I want is to hurt the people very dear to me - and I'm aware the least expected of me is to leave without a word, and I'm sure it's incredibly concerning. But I promise that this is for the betterment of both your lives and mine. If I don't return, know that I care for and appreciate each and every one of you, and one, I love so very dearly, the first to show me love I didn't know possible until I met them. Don't worry, though. I plan to return, I just need your confidence in me, and I promise you I'll tell the whole truth when I do come back... (ahem)... when I come back home. I'll see you soon. "
There was a long battle ahead of her, and she needed to have faith in herself in order to make it back.
She believed in herself. She could do it, she would. Right now, it was as worth of a time as any to finally find the confidence she had lacked in her years upon years of existence.
Her grip on the knife tightened, and she moved forward, as that was the only way to go now.
So! I've decided to actually sit down and give you guys some context on what, pray tell, Dove exactly is, as well as some background information that I have yet to talk about.
Her species - precisely the same as the Voices - are called Nunoids. ("new-noids.")
Dove, herself, is considered to be a mutation in the genetics of her species, therefore making her both defected and considered an outcast. However, "The Boss," - as the Voices refer to him - finds her abilities intriguing and wants to see what exactly she can do, and how he can use that to his advantage.
Nunoids typically aren't able to shapeshift. With energy, they can create items, but they cannot change their physical appearance. For this reason, Dove is considered to be rare because of her abilities.
That's why the Voices are here. Finally, having found her, their job is to return her back Home. Dove, however, is hesitant.
Imaginary is far gone when it comes to mental state. She is delusional, crazy, and constantly looking to damage. Its Father is one of the main reasons for this, as he has shaped it into a weapon of destruction. All she seeks to do is harm.
View is more on the cautious side. Her intentions are unclear, and their morals seem to be nonexistent. Their only directive is to follow The Boss's orders, and she very well intends to do that, whether that involves harming others doesn't exactly matter to them.
Murmur is the most level-headed and calm. He has the habit of saying harsh things without intention due to his messed up mental state but Believe is slowly working on his nerves and getting him back to his senses. Harm is not what he wants, but instead what he was programmed to do. If he can just snap out of it fully...
Believe is the quietest and most morally correct. She is the only one who will not cause harm, not on impulse nor on direction. Dove is very important to her, for reasons unknown.
There isn't much known about The Boss aside from the fact that he is cruel and unfeeling, chiefly concerned with his own desires, and he will use any means necessary to get what he wants.
Here's Believe.
Heh hey guys. Little sneak peek for you.
Hushed voices are heard nearby the radio, it seems they've forgotten that it's always on due to its broken state. The buttons don't work, and the stations don't turn. It feels like it's been forever since they had heard a simple tune.
"What are you planning on doing...? Please don't do anything rash. Don't hurt her."
"I'd love to do that! Can we go with that plan?"
"Don't be an idiot, we're not supposed to lay even a claw on her. At least, that's what the boss told us, that is."
"Aww. And here I thought we'd be having fun with this! This whole thing couldn't be more boring."
"Do you want us to make it even more boring, to the point it's torturous for your feeble little mind?"
"No! Anything but that! ...Is what you wanted to hear, right? Tch. As if that would stop me. I'd just make my own fun. I find fun in hurting other people too."
"Now, now. There's no need for all of this bickering. You are both acting like children."
"Who are you to judge? It's not like you have any control over me."
"You're an idiot if you think that."
"You forget my ties with the boss, it seems! I can do whatever I please, don't you remember?"
"..."
"That's what I thought."
"In any case, going into this situation without a plan was irrational enough. We need to come up with something logical, one that makes sense. The boss would prefer her alive. You know this, Imaginary."
"So what?"
"He will be angry with you..."
"Oh, shut up. Like I care about what YOU have to say!"
"Don't speak to her like that, you little runt."
"..."
"Come with me, you bonehead."
"..."
"..."
"...Anyway. What are we thinking of doing besides that?"
"Murmur, this feels... wrong. Like... like we shouldn't be doing this. She left home long ago, I think we should have just forgotten about her, and... let her live the life she has now..."
"You did hear the boss though, right? He wants her back home, and we've been searching for years. Now, when we finally find her, you want to turn back? What would He say?"
"This isn't right. It -- The boss knows what He's doing. Don't you see? That He's been shaping us into manipulative murder machines? That all we do is follow orders, that we don't have free will anymore?"
"Believe. Listen --"
"You know that this is wrong!"
"...You're right."
"Then listen to me. Remember who you are, remember that this isn't how you used to be, know that this isn't you. This behavior we're partaking in -- all we're doing is hurting and hurting,"
It seems that not all of the voices are inherently evil. There is more to this than it originally seemed, it appears.
It looks like there may be hope after all.
*The radio is left on the floor where it lies. The entity on this side watching the contraption. Unsure if it should keep silent or speak up as the four speak to one another... uncertainly crawls up and down its form as it listened to the voices... worry grows into thinking. And with a small hope Dove does not hear, or at least. Doesn't stop this. A limb grabs the old radio from the attic floor and a soft spoken, mature voice speaks into it. Once it was sure the other two at least were away.* "... Believe, Murmur. Those are your names, yes? My name is Care. I don't have the full picture but... I believe I know a situation similar to the one your both in. I hope you are willing to speak with." *The voice tries to stay quiet. Not wanting to draw too much attention...*
"You both seem more... willing to leave Friend Dove alone. More willing than the other two at least... With how you all talk. I feel as though your 'boss' isn't gonna stop... Are you... unable to disobey his commands?"
*With no real way to help Friend Dove. Patch felt the only real impact would be to try and get... allies on her side... Only one way to really know if this idea works.*
There is silence, and it is loud. It seems clear that the two of them had forgotten that the radio was there.
"..."
"..."
"Not if we want to stay alive."
Believe's hushed voice is barely audible under Murmur's. They seem to forget the radio is there again, and have another conversation amongst themselves that is hard to hear without the effort of strain.
"Isn't it worth the risk? You know what we're doing is--"
"I know perfectly well. But that's nothing when all five of our lives are on the line. It's better for her to endure it with us and live than all five of us die."
"He wouldn't kill His own son, would He?"
"I wouldn't put it past Him..."
"Maybe you're right...."
"I question how much thou art willing to speak of, alas I pray thee... are those voices... thine kin?" The faint clanking of armor caught by the radio and odd speech made this anon easy to tell apart from others Sincerely the squire anon
" ... "
She's quiet for a while. Gears turn in her head, and she thinks for a moment. She has lied so much already. Lying some more would make her feel like a monster.
"Two of them."
Ultimately, it appears she has decided to be honest.

Purring could be heard on the other side of the radio
-🐈⬛️👁
(Is my evil guy allowed to communicate/be heard. Prehaps you can hear her but not the other way around or would that mess stuff up)
She tenses, listening to the gentle noise on the other end.
" . . . "
In the end, she says nothing.
(Yeah bro! She can hear everybody ^_^)
"Dove?... what do you do while you are... secluded like this? B-besides the... stuff you can't talk about." "Someone thinks... that you are managing a secret garden while your... alone." *The louder voice tried its best to hide a growl at the word 'alone'. But through its own choice or through Patchs' choice. It says nothing else.* "I just think you'd like a garden." -SKIN ANON
" I write, at times. "
She murmurs, her voice soft and solemn.
" It's nothing special . . . just . . . drabbles. Poems, passages . . . I don't know. "
She was quieter than the last time she had talked, and her mind seemed to wander; she almost seemed absent despite being right there.
ooc I have no idea how to put it. But I find it hilarious we came up with similar *people* for our respected child. Granted, I don't know how similar Doves' voices are to Patchs' voices. I found it too funny not to comment on. -SKIN ANON
Dove's little friends are based off of See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Think No Evil, and Feel No Evil :-] just a little hint for ya!!
Hi guys. As apology for what you're going to learn soon, here's Dove shapeshifted into the species of the other modlings!
Daz, Spiggle, Cheeky, Lockstep, and Jules' species in the order they appear!!
I feel as though I should be scared, but shapeshifted Dove is a good distraction. Love how the only two that don't have her sweater is Steps and Spiggle
They have it too! For Steps, it's lower and hangs off of her shoulders, and for Spiggle, it's also tied around her waist... she loves that DAMN SWEATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I adore this fact. I just love it. SWEATER FOREVER!
SWEATER FOREEVEEERR !!!
