This is the Fender Telecaster that Robbie Robertson played on The Band's live album 'Rock Of Ages'. It is the same guitar that Bob Dylan played on Tour '66 with The Hawks before the black paint was all chipped off.

This day two years ago, my friend and your friend, Levon Helm, passed away. Rather than be sad, which he wouldn't want us to be anyway, let us celebrate his life, his friendship, his talent, his music, his achievements and all those things that make Levon one of the most remarkable persons that has ever graced the lives of so many people. We love you Levon and as always, you remain in our thoughts, constantly.

Nice photo of Jimmy. Look at those fingers! He was born with long fingers and that makes all the difference. Together with his head and his heart, they have helped him become a living legend, one of the greatest musicians that has ever lived. I was born with short fingers and they caused me to be stuck as a rhythm guitarist; I just can't reach the notes that make a great solo...

My favourite private photo of Big Pink. It's without any people in the shot, but I can kinda see Levon, Robbie, Rick, Richard, Garth and Bob sitting out there, taking a break from the basement recording sessions. Maybe, having a beer or two and a smoke.

Is there no end to Levon's talent? Levon's screen début, here on the set of 'Coal Miner's Daughter' with Sissy Spacek starring in the lead role as Loretta Lynn. The 1980 biographical film won an Academy Award for Best Actress (Sissy Spacek).

Who would have guessed that such a simple-looking album cover photograph would, by virtue of the music contained therein, become one of Rock 'N' Roll's most iconic album covers. The Band. I love Levon's beard at this time; he kinda looks as if he's a Captain in the Confederate Army. Right at home on horseback next to General Robert E. Lee.
