+ The botanical garden was mostly unkempt and sad, but there was a large section of forest, which is always neat in the middle of Tokyo

+ Anyways, the best part of the garden was this surprising find: this is a tree grown from a cutting from the apple tree that supposedly dropped an appl on Newton's head and inspired his theory of gravity; that story is almost certainly BS, but Newton did have an apple tree in his garden (of the Kent variety) and this apple tree is a cutting of it, after being cured of its viral disease
