Who have you empowered today?
Meet Vanessa Long from University at Albany DPhiL. She will be doing study abroad in Korea this summer and needs your help! (Support Vanessa's trip here: http://www.gofundme.com/8f8qug) This is what Vanessa had to say about her experiences. "Before I joined Delta Phi Lambda, I was suffering from depression and contemplated many things regarding my life. However, when I became a sister, I realized that I had parents who loved me and gained a Big Sister that to this day remains a role model to me. I became very hardworking and pushed my limits above and beyond what I thought I was ever capable of. Whenever I thought that I was at the breaking point, I always managed to overcome it and grow by remembering the virtues of the Sorority. From programs and workshops to volunteering and more, never have I been so involved on campus, until joining the Sisterhood. Delta Phi Lambda has provided me a place to be someone who I want to be without fear of being judged. I am proud to say that I have become a truly daring, determined, and Dedicated Female Leader. I became a person that I have never thought I would be and it was for the better. I am so proud to have joined this Everlasting Sisterhood." Congrats to Vanessa on this amazing opportunity and thank you for having the courage to speak out about overall mental wellness and how important it is to find support. Good luck at Yonsei!
Meet Paris "Xistance" Lovette. She says:
Delta Phi Lambda has helped me become an empowered woman, not only on my campus, but in my everyday life because it guided me in the right directions to do so. Our virtues are forever stamped on my heart as well as our preamble and going to Japan will be just one of many examples of me acknowledging and spreading a heritage that I care so much about. DFL challenges me to become a better woman and I do not think that I would have as many opportunities right now if I had not joined such an organization that empowers its women to become Dedicated Female Leaders.
Paris is one of several sisters that will be studying abroad this summer and she needs your help! Visit her fundraising page here: http://www.gofundme.com/7vyyus
We wish Paris the best of luck and hope to hear all the great stories when she gets back from Japan! #yeowL

Keep moving. #mlk #mondaymotivation
Watch this amazing woman and it'll be sure to jumpstart your weekend. You CAN CAN!
Speak the truth even if your voice shakes. Lead with your heart by being honest with yourself. Lead with your gut by being brave enough to stand out!
So what is the Delta Phi Lambda Foundation about, really?
The Foundation was established as the fundraising arm of the Sorority. Currently, our main focus is to assist Dedicated Female Leaders through scholarships that will provide educational, leadership opportunities.
Toward that end the Foundation has created its Champions Program. Champions of the Foundation believe that the Foundation's support of the Sorority is crucial. They actively engage their family and friends in awareness of the Foundation's mission and encourage them to also contribute. Visit the Champions Fundraising Page to see how close we are to reaching our goal and more information on how to sign up!
Thank you to sisters who came out to Team New York City's first Champions dinner!
Spend a few hours with Helen Gym, Philadelphia’s famously feisty community organizer, and you see a rabble-rouser on the run, dashing from a TEDx talk rehearsal at Temple University to a rally for public education, where she revved up the crowd.
Gym speaks “truth to power,” said State Sen....
Happy Founders Day to the Lovely Ladies of Delta Phi Lambda Sorority Inc. at University at Albany!
We would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Sandra Day O'Connor! As the first female US Supreme Court Justice she further gave credibility to the notion that anything men can do women can do, also!
She paved the way and now three females are seated at the table of the nation's highest court. Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan, we salute you!
Happy Founders Day to the Zeta Chapter of Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. at Georgia Tech!
Yup, it's Monday but that just means the start to another awesome week! What will you accomplish today??
On this day in 1972 the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was adopted by the Senate by a vote of 84-8 (7 not voting). Considering that the ERA was introduced in EVERY Congressional session from 1923-1970, it was a miracle that it finally came out of committee and reached the floor of the House and Senate for an actual vote. Upon passing House and Senate the next step was to have it ratified by the states. As of the March 22, 1979 deadline (a short 7 years later), only 35 states had ratified this amendment - just 3 states shy of what was necessary to make this a part of the US Constitution. Oh and by the way, 5 of the 35 states had decided to rescind their earlier ratification.
The fight for ratification still continues today. Has your state ratified the ERA? Find out here.
As Alice Paul, original author of the ERA, once said, "The movement is a sort of mosaic. Each of us puts in one little stone, and then you get a great mosaic at the end."
Where will YOU put your stone?
