‘Is that what you want?’ Eittie’s voice dropped slightly as she smiled at him, thinking about him visiting if she was on the East Coast, more long relaxed evenings together at restaurants or just at home. Even just the calm of the thought made her shoulders relax. ‘… to see more of me?’ It was a genuine question, she was never quite able to read him in the way she thought he wanted her to. Of course he was sweet and thoughtful, but that was a new intimate language to Eittie and it was difficult to translate. It might have seemed stupid to an outsider, but coming all the way to Scotland to spend time with her, in her mind, wasn’t any guarantee of deep genuine interest. Watching him eat his dinner made the warm smile break out into a grin. ‘The food in the U.S. is rubbish most of the time… especially when you want a good proper meal, you can’t beat pub grub in front of a fire.’
Taking a bit of her own meal, Eittie could feel the rush of his arrival and thrill of seeing him subside into that warm happiness that sat deep in her chest as she relaxed into his presence. ‘Well you can’t say something like that and then not elaborate!’ As she sipped her wine and looked around them to make sure so one was within hearing distance, she leaned in. ‘What exactly where you day dreaming about?’
Dawson nodded when she asked what he wanted. “I do want that. I am always wishing to see you more often. As much as I can to be completely honest.” He felt maybe he was too old to be calling it a crush but she did run through his more than he even realized. Reaching out he touched the top of her hand softly. “I just hope I get to visit you no matter where you go.” He laughed when she called the food in the US rubbish. “I’m beginning to realize that. Are you going to ruin me on all American food?” He took another bite and hummed in happiness. He made a mental note to learn to try to recreate fish and chips the best he could at home. “This is wonderful.” Feeling the warmth of the fire along the right side of his body, he felt cozier than he had in a year or so.
When she asked him to elaborate he shook his head. “Should I? Or should I keep all the shocking details to myself?” He teased before taking a sip of his beer. As she looked around, he leaned forward. Sure, Dawson had been day dreaming enough that he could tell her just about anything and it could be true. “Do you remember when you came over in the rain? And your leg was hurt?” He tilted his head. “And you told me to imagine you without any limitations of an injury?” He picked up his napkin and toyed with the seam of the cloth. “There was a lot of that going on in my mind...” He said, feeling the blush run over his cheeks at admitting something of that nature.

“I can understand that. So last night was a bit of an off night for both of us,” Strange just how off that night had been, but in the best way. Not many people turned a one night stand into a real date. “I own, and operate a medical marijuana dispensary, and then two recreational dispensaries.. My family runs a grow a little outside of the city.” That was nicer than saying she was a legal drug dealer of sorts, right? It probably sounded better anyway.
When she mentioned it being an off night for the both of them, he smiled and nodded. “Yeah.. I can’t say that that is at all common for me... what happened last night..” He whispered. When she said she ran a medical marijuana dispensary, he nodded and raised his eyebrows. “Oh wow. that must be a lot to deal with.” Dawson had never had any experience with any sort of drug, so he wasn’t really sure about what went into running a growing operation. “Do you enjoy it?”

“I really appreciate you showing me around,” Ivy cooed, glancing over to him as her fingers wrapped around the straw of her iced coffee. “I definitely wouldn’t have seen anything on my own–– just spent my time getting lost,” laughter oozed from her lips. She hadn’t expected to have as much fun as she did, roaming the streets in search of cool and unique haunts. To have jelled so well with another, Ivy wasn’t one who meshed with people on first instance, yet the two seemed to meld together. A connection she hadn’t expected, and she was unsure she wanted to be without. She liked their awkward jokes over random food, seeing how spicey she could handle before tears sprung to her eyes.
She sunk further into the couch; her legs crossed in front of her, watching him with a smile painting her lips and a quirked brow. “Well we need to send it off with a bang, so–– what are we doing?” She grinned, butterflies bubbled in her stomach, Ivy couldn’t get enough of him; let alone spending so much time together. She wondered if it would all feel silent afterwards.
Dawson took a drink of his coffee and smiled as she thanked him. “Oh no, it was my pleasure, really. I had a lot of fun with you.” He really knew he had an ideal place for AirBnb and so far, he had really good luck with people renting out the spare bedroom. He was in close proximity to the beach all while remaining nice and secluded to avoid the sound of the city. He had not at all expected all of this though. Dawson had expected to show her around, but he had never expected to enjoy himself so thoroughly. Usually he was such a quiet guy, but she so easily brought a fun side out in him.
As she got comfy on the couch he looked at her from the kitchen where he started to put things out that she might need. “Hmm?” He asked when she asked what they were doing. “Oh uh.. I’m not sure.. what did you have in mind?” He said shyly, turning to look at her with a smile.
a-museing-rps:
God, could he get cuter? Dawson wasn’t like most of the guys she ended up with. He was sweet, and maybe a little shy but she wasn’t. He was something new for her and Delilah loved every second of it. Taking the seat with a quiet thank you, she fussed with the bottom of her dress. “I’m not a huge drinker in general. With the industry I work in, I think the vice it gives me is the only one I need. I mostly just drink water- lame, I know.” The days she did drink were few and far between. It wasn’t that she wouldn’t if she had to.
“Yeah? That’s good. I should probably drink more water in general. Don’t get me wrong I’m not like a huge drinker.. just an occasional glass of red with dinner or something. You aren’t lame.” He said as he looked over the menu. When she mentioned her job his eyebrows lifted. “Oh yeah? Uh.. could you remind me what you do again? My brain is still.. a little fuzzy from last night.” He chuckled softly remembering only portions of the night.
WHAT’S YOUR MUSE’S PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE
YOUR PRIMARY LOVE LANGUAGE IS: Quality Time
In Quality Time, nothing says "I love you" like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes you feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed activities, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful. Whether itʼs spending uninterrupted time talking with someone else or doing activities together, you deepen your connection with others through sharing time.

That compliment was more than she ever could have expected. Her cheeks flushed with color, her smile grew to the point it crashed apart and showed her teeth. “Thank you, that’s maybe the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me,” Delilah figured it was a line, but then again, his lines had worked enough to get her in bed with him the first time. Once at the restaurant, she thanked him for opening the door and carefully stepped out. “Sounds perfect. I like a man that knows how to plan ahead,” Delilah leaned up to press a lingering kiss to his cheek. “Thank you.”
He looked down at his feet when she said it was the sweetest thing someone has said to her. Surely that couldn’t be true? She was so gorgeous, he couldn’t imagine she hadn’t been told that frequently. He had not been expecting the kiss on his cheek and felt his ears burn as he let out a light chuckle. “Thank you...” He said in response, feeling somewhat foolish for his lame response. When the waitress led them to their table he pulled out her chair for her before sitting in his seat. “So uh... do you like wine?” He asked as he touched the wine menu at the center of the table. It was dawning on him that he really didn’t know much about her.

No matter how strange this was to look at externally, it felt good. She was happy to be able to say she was giving this a little more of a chance. The sex had been fantastic, she had to wonder what the guy who provided it was like the rest of the time. And to hear he’d been thinking about her just like she’d been thinking about him. “Oh yeah? You’ve kind of been on my mind today too.” Delilah couldn’t hide her grin no matter how hard she tried. “Yeah, of course. What is it?”
He felt his ears burn red in a blush as she said she had been thinking of him too. His deep, but soft voice finally managed to speak after debating what he was going to say. “I think you are one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever met.” Continuing to drive, he slowed down once he got in front of the restaurant. He turned the car off and stepped out, walking to her side to open the door for her. “Okay.. this is it...I got us a table so we should be able to walk right in..” He said quietly.
eittiedouglas:
Eittie smiled under the compliment, her cheeks growing slowly more pink in colour in a way that had nothing to do with the growing warmth of the fire as they settled there. Entirely unused to earnest compliments, she didn’t know quite how to respond to it, she didn’t want to laugh it away or turn away from it but she didn’t know how to quite say thank you for the gentle gift that it was. Instead she touched her fingers to his and squeezed softly, hoping that he understood that the touch held much more than she really knew how to say.
‘The job is the deciding factor. I need something with a little more… consistency in my life so if the job can offer me that, that’s where I’ll go. I think I need to get away from the UK for a while.. do something different, see different things.’ She smiled as he hummed at the warm food, taking a bite of her own and chewing softly as she looked back out the window. It was true, she didn’t have any real leaning one way or the other, just a desire for a new direction, anything to feel like things could start moving forward again. ‘You must miss her a lot when you’re travelling?’
Looking down as her fingers grabbed his, he smiled. “Consistency is a good thing to look for.” He leaned forward. “Well, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t rooting for the east coast so I could come visit you a little more.” He took a bite of his food before his eyes widened. “Wow...” He whispered as he looked closer at his plate. “Is that what fish and chips is supposed to taste like?” Taking another bite, he hummed in happiness. “I have been lied to my entire life.” Mumbling to himself softly, he chuckled.
“I do miss her. I mean... gosh this is going to sound heartless. I do and I don’t. Of course I miss her, but you know, while I am away my mind is generally other places. Especially here. But I do check in every day to make sure she’s looking okay and behaving.” He poured some vinegar on his plate, making sure to get the whole experience of Scottish fish and chips. “I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when you invited me to stay with you... I nearly missed one of my seminars just daydreaming.”

Delilah couldn’t have been happier to see Dawson on the other side of that door. The smile on her face only grew at the way he looked at her. “Thank you, you don’t look so bad yourself,” Delilah returned the compliment as she stepped out and locked the door behind her. “I’m starving, actually. Delicious food and some nice company sounds like exactly what I need.” It was odd to be stepping into this car a second time. Especially when she wasn’t supposed to want to see him again, that was how a one night stand was supposed to work. But here she was, buckling herself up. When he joined her, Delilah fussed with the bottom edge of her cocktail dress. “I um.. I honestly didn’t expect a call. I’m happy you did though.”
This was completely backwards from how Dawson usually did things. He had never had a one night stand, and definitely hadn’t expected it to turn into a date. But she was beautiful, and seemed sweet and he had been thinking about her all day. “Yeah? Well I am glad we get a chance to grab dinner together.” He smiled and got in, turning on some light music. “i would be crazy to not call you. I actually... was thinking about you a lot today.” He pulled away and started driving to the restaurant. “Can I tell you something?” Dawson spoke softly.
eittiedouglas:
Even though she met the kiss with the same eagerness, it didn’t last long as the tangle of sheets, legs and the dog barely gave them peace and as Rosalind protested with a giant lick she broke away laughing. ‘I can’t tell if she’s really excited that I’m here or if she’s just softening me up so she can attack protectively.’ Reaching up, she scratched under the dogs chin, before she did the same to the scruff at Dawson’s jaw with a warm smile. ‘How does she survive those long shift hours without you?’
Dawson groaned as Rosalind quickly moved between them. “She’s never.... I don’t really have a lot of people over... so she probably isn’t intending on attacking.” He finally felt as though his racing heart had calmed and he could catch his breath as normal. “Well.. generally I don’t have super long hours, unless it is a really complicated surgery. In which case, I either bring her to Puppy’s Playpen or have someone stop by to feed her and take her on a walk.” He idly ran his hand up and down her forearm. “Do you want something to drink or anything?” Although he really didn’t want to move from this spot, he still wanted to be a good host.
eittiedouglas:
The flush crept up Eittie’s cheeks at his compliment, as his sweet stumble caused a smile to spread across her lips before she fell into a laugh, squeezing his hand. ‘I hope the second word wasn’t mutant.’ The tone of her voice was clearly teasing. It wasn’t often Eittie spent time with people who were so generous with their attention, most of her one night stands were moving towards an end that had nothing to do with getting to know one another. Hearing Dawson speak about his work, even if it was only briefly, really excited her and she forgot a moment that they were in a pub or that he didn’t have his notes to just pull out and recite for her. ‘That sounds fascinating! You are a sculptor of sorts, aren’t you? Do you enjoy conferences? I’ve always managed to make it through but I’ve never been particularly confident speaking at them.’
As the conversation turned to her, she smiled and squeezed his hand before letting go, sitting back more comfortably in her chair as she saw their meals coming towards them. As the waiter set them down with cutlery and condiments, she softly pushed the sleeves up of her sweater. ‘I’ve been alright.’ Glancing up at him, the was a moments hesitation on her face as thoughts raced through her mind of sleepless nights, lonely hangovers, the gun hovering in front of her face. Mentally shaking it away, she reached for the vinegar and held it out to him for his chips. ‘I’ve been mostly working small projects here and there, just through a network of colleagues but it can’t last forever so I’ve been looking for work. I enjoyed my short time in LA, so I’ve been looking overseas. Perhaps Europe or the East Coast US. I enjoyed a little of the sun but I don’t think it’s for me permanently.’ Taking a bite of her food, she chewed it thoughtfully, before reaching to take a sip of her drink. ‘How is Rosalind? Is she with friends?’
Laughing, he set down his beer. “Yeah, I totally meant beautiful mutant.” He felt his cheeks heat up at the mix up. “I think I was trying to say radiant and beautiful and sort of.... messed up.” Leaning forward in his chair he lowered his voice. “But you do look beautiant tonight.” His smile softened as he looked her in the eye. He never wanted to seem like he was simply flattering her, or being insincere. Which was why he tried not to tell her she was one of the most beautiful women he had laid eyes on. It felt too much like a pick up line, no matter how truly he felt it.
When she compared him to a sculptor he tilted his head. “Yeah.. I suppose I am of sorts... just instead of sculpting tools I have a mallet, pliers and a scalpel.” His thumb warmly rubbed over the back of her hand. He was almost upset that the food was coming when she pulled away, however, the growl in his stomach said otherwise. “Only alright?” Eyebrows raised as he looked at her in concern. When she handed him the vinegar, he took it. “This is for the fish right?” Listening as she discussed her plans, he nearly fumbled the vinegar bottle. “Really? Uh.. what is going to be the deciding factor there? Between the East Coast and Europe I mean... Do you know maybe.. where in Europe? Or off the coast?” He ate a ‘chip’ humming at the warmth. “Rosalind is in day care. They send me little daily videos and they actually live stream play hours, so I can check on her. Make sure she isn’t getting bullied by the French Bulldogs.”
a-museing-rps:
“Not distracted enough to trim of a thumb, but distracted enough to smile like an idiot most of the day.” Much like she was right in that moment. Especially when he laughed on the other end of the phone. “I can’t say I’ve ever eaten French food before. That sounds really nice.” Was it possible to be this excited about someone she’d just hooked up with? “Oh! Yeah, let me just..” Delilah pulled her phone from her face and texted her address over to him. “There you go. I’ll see you soon. I really can’t wait. Drive safe and.. Yeah. Okay.. Bye for now then.” The nervous rambling she wished she could have helped but she really was starting to like this guy.
Pulling up to the house, he stepped out of the car and walked up to the door. He fixed his hair quickly out of nervous habit. He knocked on the door and waited quietly for the door to open. When the door swung open, he smiled and looked at her. “Wow.. you look amazing.” He gestured for her to join him. “I hope you are hungry, this place has really amazing food.” Dawson rambled as he opened the door for her. He certainly didn’t have a habit of starting dates the way with a hookup, but he was so glad that she had agreed to meet him again.
