Otherworld is an AU made by my friends and I where the main story is bigger than just the Doctor. River is a Time Lord, the Doctor kidnaps Brax, the Master and the Rani have a mindmeld romance, and everyone's 75% gayer.
I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with this blog. Is it an RP blog? Am I just going to yap incoherently about the stories and characters we've made up? Who knows!
Melody Pond grew up in a childrenâs home in Gallifreys Capitol. She went mostly unnoticed by the staff, and was ignored by the children for being different- having her head in the clouds. When she went to the academy at the age of 8, she was so excited to make new friends- only to find herself in the same situation.
Eventually she made a good group of likeminded friends, and in her early teen years met Theta, Koschei, and Ushas. She wasnât a part of the Deca, but hung around them quite a bit- especially once her and Theta started dating.
Once starting her advanced botany classes, Melody took to herbal medicines. She even spent a year in Arcadia as an exchange student. For as long as she can remember, she had been sick. An illness the home didnât care to examine, and later, one that doctors couldnât diagnose. She would have bouts of weakness, coughing fits, and trouble breathing. No medication, herbal or otherwise, seemed to help.
After the academy Melody got a job as a researcher, studying the effects of herbs and creating new medicines. Nothing she made ever worked on her own illness, but she helped countless others. Due to her declining health, Theta built Melody a lab in their Arcadia flat full of plants and beautiful lights. Her own little getaway from it all. She worked there till her eventual abduction at the age of 444.
For 32 years, Melody was shown horrific fake images of her wife killing and torturing, standing in gallifreyâs ruins, destroying countless other planets. She was tortured, beaten, and eventually forcefully regenerated once they decided she was too old and frail.

Before the dawn of humanity, Earth was ruled by the cousin species Silurians and Sea Devils, each ruling the land and the sea. Though the Sea Devils were more advanced than their land-dwelling kin, the Silurians were fiercer. When war inevitably broke out between the two halves of Earth, it waged for thousands of years.
During this war of Land and Sea, there was a small group of creatures that disagreed with the fighting and wanted to unite the two biomes as one: They called themselves Shoreliners. Scimbus was the child of two such shoreliners, a dweller of both land and sea.
Scimbus was in a hibernation pod when the asteroid hit earth. The underwater caves where his people resided collapsed, killing his family. Just like that, he was the last of his kind.
He slept through humanity's baby steps. He was awoken in the 1920s when a Dalek squadron came to Earth to drill for the hidden Hand of Omega, the tremors upsetting his hibernation pod. Though confused about the modern world, Scimbus helped the Second Doctor fight off the Daleks, and became her companion.
He learned English in a hurry in order to communicate with humans in the time of crisis in which he awoke. Having emerged in Scotland, he has a thick Scottish accent.

Koschei Oakdown grew up on Gallifrey with Theta, Ushas, and Melody. Sheâd heard the drums since looking into the untempered schism, though in this case she really had gone mad. There was no evil scheme set in place by the Timelords- rather an unstable girl falling victim to the weight of all space and time.
Koscheiâs home life was awful. Between their parents mental and physical abuse, constant reminders that she was crazy, and her impending arranged marriage, she felt as if she had nowhere to run.
Watching Theta kill Torvic for her awakened something within them, and set her on a path of violence, not wanting to feel weak or helpless anymore. With the help of Ushas and their deep psychic bond, she begins experimenting with just how far she can take her psychic abilities. By the end of it she can alter memories, force subjects to do her bidding, and kill someone within a minute of getting into their mind.
Not long after graduating the academy, Koschei tortures and murders her parents in cold blood. She flees for the wastes, where she lives in hiding for years, building up her abilities before finally stealing a TARDIS and leaving for the stars.

The Rani, previously known as Ushas Wainright, is a maniacal Time Lady who is committed her life to the pursuit of knowledge.
In her youth, she attended the Academy along with Theta and Koschei. Despite there only being the three of them (and Melody, an honourary member), their troublemaking friendgroup became known as the Deca. Ushas conducted various dangerous experiments with Koschei Oakdown at her side. The two were close; closer than anyone could imagine.
While in her second incarnation, she was exiled from Galifrey for threatening a councilmen that she would âvivisect him in front of a group of academy students to teach him a lessonâ. However, that exile was lifted, as the beginnings of a civil war were on the horizon.
The Council contracted the Rani to conduct secret experiments concerning the nature of regeneration. These tests were to be carried out on high risk prisoners over the course of several years.
Her most successful subject was her former close friend and confidant, the Mistress. After torturing her for several years, the Rani would have to face the consequences of her actions when she is killed and regenerates in a prison riot started by the Mistress.
Beyond angry at her test subject, the Rani joins the war effort in support of the Capitol to try and get revenge. Itâs a revenge she will never receive, as the Capitol falls to the Resistance and she is forced into exile once again.
The Rani must continually flee from the looming punishment for her war crimes, while still attempting to further her work and vie for the attention of the Doctor. It isnât long before itâll all catch up to her.

Dr. Harold Sullivan, an over-worked and underpaid head of A&E and third son of an upper class family. His best friend is the only thing keeping him sane.
Until he met the Doctor. In the back of a lonely ward, she had been sleeping inside a cocoon: Her third regeneration was taking longer than it should. She sprung out one day and he immediately fell in love. He couldn't help it. She was extraordinary, smart and beautiful.
So they went on adventures together, he fell in love with the galaxy and further into longing with her. Hoping she would notice him.
She did not. To her, he was more of a pet who didn't wander far and did what she told him to. Harry didn't mind, he liked the attention even if it was unorthodox.
They traveled for quite some years, defeating the Daleks, fighting gods, arguing with robots and diplomats, running away from dinosaurs, and over all helping the galaxy along the way.

During an adventure, Harry was captured by a group of cultists that followed Sutekh and wanted to know the secrets of the Time Lord. Harry refused, not willing to give her up. It cost him his entire left hand, along with some minor permanent scars.
He was ever devoted to the Doctor; she being confused by the idiot human, allowed for a relationship, one-sided though it may be. Harry got a prosthetic hand, which helped with the lost limb but not the pain. Doctors making for the worst patients, he didn't tell her and instead started self medicating - rather heavily.
Getting a summons home to Gallifrey to save the planet from a Sontaran invasion, the Doctor left Harry back on earth, where he was considered a missing person. Left on a world he doesn't recognise anymore, he stayed with his youngest brother and rekindled a shaky friendship with Rose Tyler.

Melody Pond and Theta Lungbarrow met in the Gallifreyan Academy when they were both very young, but immediately, they were pack bonded. Their close friendship turned into a romance as soon as they both knew the word, and for as much as the universe kept trying to pull them apart, it is a romance that persisted.
The Academy was an oppressive setting. You were punished if you left your dorm after nightfall, for talking back, for any sign of dissent; for independent thought, Theta used to muse.
To this end, she would sneak around the outside of the building to share a bed with Melody. She got very good at climbing drainpipes.
Theta never felt welcome at home. She was a child her parents never wanted, and she felt that fact every day she spent with them, so she actually welcomed the Academy, for all its problems. Melody's only other home was her group home in the Capitol, so to save herself and her girlfriend from facing their terrible home lives every Summer, Theta would spend the school year enacting various get rich quick schemes to save up enough money to rent somewhere over the break for them to share.
After your first 21 years at the Academy, you could pick a specialty subject to follow for your remaining 10. Melody specialised in botany and herbal medicines, seeking to help chronically ill people like herself (she suffered from an auto-immune disease), while Theta followed in the footsteps of her historical hero Omega in the temporal sciences. When school was over, the two women moved in together in Arcadia, a more green-friendly city far away from the Capitol and the Academy; a place Melody had fallen in love with during her time as an exchange student.
As the Other's reincarnation, Theta would dream of the Other's life. Eventually, she became convinced that she had some connection to the ancient figure, and in her twilight years, would steal a TARDIS to see for herself if it was true. It was. She was prepared to run home and convince Melody to run away with her, only to find two members of the Agency at her door. They weren't here to arrest her; rather to tell her that Melody had been killed in a rebel attack.
Heartsbroken, Theta fled Gallifrey in her stolen TARDIS.
Melody hadn't died, though. The Fates of Gallifrey had foreseen the end of time, blaming Theta's future self. Melody was taken by the Agency to be brainwashed into an assassin.
The daughter of Pete Tyler and the late Jackie Tyler, Rose Marion Tyler shouldâve lived life as an ordinary girl. She shouldâve gone to school, had a crappy job, a crappy boyfriend, a relatively normal life.
But when her best friend goes missing, her life slowly begins to turn on its head.
As the traveling companion of the 9th and 10th incarnations of the Doctor, and a close associate of the 11thâ sheâs shown a universe much bigger than herself. Itâs a universe she quickly falls in love with.
After witnessing the death and subsequent regeneration of the 10th Doctor at the hands of the tyrannical Rani, Rose has to make the difficult decision to return to Earth. She leaves behind the stars that sheâs grown to adore, but is quickly offered a position in the Doctorâs new Earth-based paranormal investigation agency known as âTorchwoodâ.
She spends her days searching for ghouls and ghosties, using the lessons learned from her days in the TARDIS to delve deep into the world of the haunted. She meets, and rather quickly becomes close with, the Doctorâs daughterâ Star Song-Lungbarrow.
It turns out, those stars that Rose adores may not be as far away as she had thought.

Irving Braxiatel is the biological child of the Doctor's adoptive parents. He's much, much younger than his adoptive sister: By the time he made it to the Academy, she had already changed her name and run off to the stars.
He has seen the corruption on his beloved planet, and vowed he would fix it, so after graduating, he went straight into politics, only for his sister and in-law to kidnap him to explore the galaxy.
He would finally get to chase his dream of being a politician, but only after leading the war effort against the corrupt Rassilonian government in Gallifrey's second civil war. He would serve a lengthy term in the newly-formed cabinet, though his career would come to an end upon his next regeneration, as is law, when an assassin kills him.
Satisfied with his efforts to save Gallifrey from the oppressive old government, he retires to a private life with his family.

Melody Pond was born on Gallifrey to Amelia and Rory Pond. When she was still just a baby, Melody's parents became the targets of the Weeping Angels; the animated husks of Time Lords who have lost their connection to time, always feverishly hungry to replace it by feeding on their own kind. As Amelia and Rory were turned to stone, they used the powers bestowed upon them by the change into Angels to warp the rest away, protecting their daughter.
Melody was left in the care of the Capitol, where grew up in a childrenâs home. At the age of 8, like most other children of Gallifrey, she was sent to the Academy. The majority of her first incarnation was spent with her wife Theta, until one night she was abducted by the Agency and brought to the crypts under the citadel. For 250 years, she was put through brutal training that wasted six of her lives; training intended to hone her into the perfect assassin who would kill the Doctor, as the Matrix had predicted that the Time Lord would stand in the planet's ruins one day. The moment she found her wife in Paris, she knew she couldnât fulfill her duty of killing her. No matter how much brainwashing and torture sheâd endured, she couldnât put her soulmate down.
The two spent years together on the run from other, more willing assassins, though when their homeworld stopped trying to kill them, River didn't stay with her wife, afraid that she would hurt her. It wouldn't be until the Doctor was in her fifth incarnation that River agreed to stick around for the long run.

The Doctor, previously known as Theta Lungbarrow, is the first renegade Time Lord. She is the reincarnation of the ancient Gallifreyan the Other.
After leaving Gallifrey after the alleged death of her wife Melody, the Doctor dedicated herself to protecting those who cannot protect themselves, and she did so to a fault, with very little sense of self preservation. Whereas most Time Lords enjoy the same body for upwards of 2000 years, the Doctor cashes in her regenerations like it's going out of style.
The Fourth Doctor, after suffering an execution and imprisonment on Earth in her past two lives, suffers from violent outbursts. She's the moodiest of the Doctors for sure. Even within the confines of her fourth life, she isn't free of the horrors, as her companion Leela becomes ill with the cheetah virus and leaves the Doctor after the Doctor lets her anger get the best of her and kills a human general in retaliation of his destruction of a Silurian city.
However, she would somewhat bounce back when she meets River Song in Paris. At first, she doesn't know River is her Gallifreyan wife Melody brainwashed by the Agency into an assassin to prevent the Doctor from bringing ruination to the planet in the future; though she falls in love with her anyway~âĄ
The Fifth Doctor convinces River to travel with her full-time, and they kidnap Brax one night as a joke, forcing him to come along too. She would have had an easier time of it if not for the outbreak of the second Gallifreyan civil war in her lifetime.
