Fandom: Axis Powers: Hetalia, (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Characters: Seborga (Vittorio), Wy (Zoe)
Notes: Yep! It's set in Avatar world, in which Vittorio is from the Southern Water Tribe and Zoe is from the Earth Kingdom. Yay for penguins!!
It had taken a lot of cajoling to convince Zoe to visit Vittorio’s home with him, but she had finally agreed to it. The Southern Water Tribe was as cold as Vittorio remembered it, and he threw on a few extra layers of his random, assorted clothing to help keep himself warm. He hadn’t really expected Zoe to not realize she’d need to bundle up, so when he saw her shivering in the cold air, he wasn’t sure what to do but hug her tightly.
“H-hey, what are you doing??” She sounded upset. Vittorio didn’t really think she was upset though. She just got that way every time he touched her.
“You looked cold! I’m keeping you warm. At least until we can find you a coat… Why didn’t you bring one though?”
He could feel her shivering in his arms and he squeezed her tighter, starting to crabwalk his way in the direction of his home. It was only a few moments before she shoved him away and slapped away any further attempts he made to hug her. “It’s weird walking like that! Stop it! And, for your information-” She always looked so haughty when she got into the ‘for your information’ part of yelling at him… He couldn’t help but grin. “-I’m from a very sunny part of the world, so it only makes sense that I wouldn’t think to wear a coat, doesn’t it?”
It was at this point that she saw him grinning. Her cheeks went brilliantly red in an instant as she huffed and crossed her arms. “Ah! See? You’re warming up already! Let’s hurry! If we don’t get you a coat soon, we won’t be able to go penguin sledding!!”
“Go what???”
Vittorio wasn’t listening to her anymore as he grabbed her hand and dragged her off to his home. His mother was out, which was probably a very good thing because he hadn’t actually sent any message to let her know he was coming home. Quickly, Vittorio grabbed a coat and draped it around Zoe, fastening it on her and smiling as he saw her start to blush again at his closeness.
“Come on,” he muttered, grabbing her hand again and leading her out onto the hills surrounding the village.
It took a little while, but very suddenly they found the penguins. Vittorio whooped and chased two down, luring them over to Zoe with some fish. He passed one onto her and grinned. “Now you just gotta get on it!” He demonstrated. “Like this!”
While she looked dubious and took her time about it, Zoe finally had herself seated on the penguin, looking extremely nervous. Vittorio offered her a wide grin. “Don’t be scared! You’ll have fun!”
With another whoop, he lead his penguin down the first slope and then lifted his legs, letting the penguin and gravity take their course. The wind whipped around him as they hurtled down and up the hills. A couple of times, he glanced back to see Zoe not far behind him, screaming in delight and beaming from ear to ear.
When they reached the bottom of the hills, the penguins threw them both off and Vittorio laid there laughing until he felt a hand in his own. He blinked and watched his vision darken as Zoe’s face loomed over him. She was flushed, her hair tousled, and she was smiling the most gorgeous smile he had ever seen.
“Have fun?” he asked brightly.
She responded with a quick nod and then, after glancing to the side for a quick moment, she muttered, “Hey… close your eyes.”
It was a trick he had played on her before. Whenever he wanted to surprise her or kiss her cheek or leave without having to say goodbye, he would ask her to close her eyes before he did it. He wondered briefly which she might do as his eyes slid closed.
An instant later, he felt her chapped lips on his cheek in the briefest of kisses. His eyes shot open and he stared at her, blushing down at him. And he could do nothing but blush right back.
