Because the reason I love a character is... well... their canon characterization??? I'm all for interesting reinterpretations of a character (I love AUs), but if said character is just a meat-suit for someone's OC, then it's not that character anymore. I came to this fanfic wanting to see "given character" not "character with given character's name."

(Maybe there's something that needs to be said about how aggressively anti-OC the internet is and how people feel the need to hide them in another character's suit instead of just writing them.)
