MONTHS HAD PASSED SINCE THEN. even then, the same flashes would surface before her eyes time and time again. one of shimmer gold, held in the hands of someone she had come to cherish so. perhaps that was why she found herself subtly perturbed by the recurring visions as she stares off into the darkness. ❝ I know what God is trying to warn me of, yet… ❞ she mutters aloud to herself, unbeknownst of the other which seems to approach in her faint dreaming. before long her senses alert her, causing her to turn toward whoever it might be.
❝ Forgive me, I had thought I was alone. ❞
ALIKE THE DANCE OF A GENTLE TOUCH along the curve of his spine did the presence of another whisper to him, call him near-- to what end, he had yet to know. It seemed even in death he walked hand-in-hand with fate as his tread, a lingering footfall after the other, guided him to a memory, where his approach died not strides away. It felt only hours before she had consoled his dying wishes, and saw his soul to a kinder beyond. He had to wonder what became of their promise, but... perhaps it was selfish of him to dwell on such things.
He searched her features in silence-- she had that look about her, he knew it well; that of uncertainty, of mistrust, as if she could not bear to turn the page on an unknowable future. Then, as if roused from a dream, the light in her eyes returned as they found his own, and Siegfried blinked away his own daze upon her acknowledgment, tipping his head forward.
❝ Ruler... So it is you... ❞ It could be no other, and he was glad of it, ❝ Please pardon my intrusion-- I meant not to disturb your thoughts. ❞
