Calling all Drinny fans!

It’s been a couple years since The DG Forum on FFN hosted a fic exchange, and nearly a decade-ish since Anise hosted the last one on LJ. We’re thinking about combining forces to host another exchange this summer, but possibly on a different platform. Maybe AO3?? Not sure yet.

BUT! There’s no point hosting an exchange if no one is interested in participating in one. So if you’re a writer and this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, reply below or let me know via message! This is NOT a sign up post, so expressing interest does not obligate you to participate. We just want to get an idea of how many people are likely to join.

If you’re a reader and this sounds like something you definitely want us to do (a slew of brand new Draco/Ginny fan fics—guaranteed—yay!!), please reblog so other Draco/Ginny fans can see this post and chime in.

What is a fic exchange?

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, a fic exchange is a writing event where participants submit prompts for stories they want to read. Everyone is assigned a prompt (typically a first come, first serve style of prompt selection) and then there is a writing period for everyone to write stories based on their chosen/assigned prompt! At the end of the writing period, stories are posted anonymously. The beauty of an exchange is that everyone who writes a story will get one in return. At the end, there are often awards for things like “Best Kiss” and “Best Portrayal of Draco” and “Most in Need of a Sequel” which are nominated and democratically voted on by participants and readers. Then a master list of stories is posted and all the authors’ identities are revealed!

It’s challenging to write a story for someone else based on a prompt within a specified timeframe, but it’s a whole lot of fun, especially to see how someone interprets your own prompt! I participated in my first fic exchange in 2009, and most of my multi-chapter fics are the product of fic exchanges I’ve participated in over the years since then.

I’m trying to find a fix I read probably 8-10 years ago on FIA. Draco had entered a fugue state at the end of the war and Ginny ran into him. There was a scene with lyrics from how soon is now but that’s all I’ve got. Help me obi wan!

I LOVE FIC HUNTS!!! Okay so I am tagging fellow mod, @idreamofdraco, but as for a fugue state… Cinnamon Badge’s 3000 Days of Innocence? Which I have, as it was taken down. Where Draco goes missing after the war, and Ginny is an auror sent to find him because his absence obviously means he did something wrong.
